Greetings Members,

Date: 15/03/2026

Venue: Muree Golf Club

Competition: 4BBB and Pairs Qualifier

Players: 20

Today`s event was 4BBB and the qualifier for the Pairs K/O at Muree golf club. 20 members fronted Muree, down on a few numbers which was not expected. The day started off with a cool breeze and a change of tee to the tenth. After we worked out who was competing in the pairs qualifier that day turned out to be a ripper with the sun beaming down and helping to dry the dew off the greens which were as fluffy has Robbo`s comeover.
Some very good scores were posted, despite the condition of the fairways and greens. Shayne Frendo was on fire during the front 9 with a 2 under par and a b**g leg, heel, foot, back and the list goes on.....I heard about it all morning.
Well done to those that qualified today for the pairs K/O, the title will be defended by last year's champions. Presentation was held at Muree after today's event, wishing we could have been at our spiritual home Central to enjoy a few cold ones.

Overall Results: 1st Shayne Frendo & Brad Eather 44pts;
2nd Cade Braynt & Graham Darcy;

Today`s event was Individual Stroke and Round 2 of the CCSG Club Championships at Charlestown golf club. The first day of Autumn produced a wonderful sunrise to the east with some overcast clouds reflecting from the sunlight...what a beautiful morning it was UNTIL I saw Ash who certainly took the shine off the day....the whole day.!
A repeat of the numbers for the 2nd time in a row with 29 members attending the round. Welcome to our newest member Scott Selkirk.
The course was in great condition, the greens were magic and the fairways were great but the rough was long like hitting the ball from a bowl of noodles. Ken Metse found the noodle so much he became fluent in chinese like AH FLUCK, YOU PLICK were some of the imperial language I learnt today.

Greeting Members,

today`s event at Shortland Waters was Individual Stableford and for those that entered was the qualifier for the Ind Stab K/O.

A solid field of 29 members attended Shorty, the course was in very good condition despite some showers through the night. Fairways were mowed to order which provided a beautiful surface to launch some good shots and the greens were pretty honest.

The Mozzies were in full force sampling some tainted blood from last nights swill, I swear I applied a dozen times with the "f**k off" and all over the cart, the little bastards were licking it off like ice cream.! Outright winner today was Sean Cunningham with 39pts - Well Done! The other burglars, came down to a countback on 38pts.

Well done to those that qualified for the Ind Stab K/O, for everyone else a great turn out today.

Greeting Members,

Round 1 of the Club Championships teed off in the smoke haze from the Bay area or if you were around Ash having a Double Happy. The conditions were sticky and steamy, I was "sweating like a p**o in a police lineup".

The course itself was in fine nick. Fairways were presented in good order, the greens were very good, if you could actually find them, and the dirt was manicured like an ugly… well, let’s just say it had character. In all the course was presentable.

A solid field of 30 members fronted up, and despite the tropical conditions some very tidy scores were posted — alongside a few that shall never be spoken of again. In the end, it came down to a countback, with Bob Roberts emerging victorious on 68 points, proving that sweat, grit, and possibly divine intervention still count for something.

All in all, a cracking start to the championships. Until next round — bring extra water, a towel, more sledging and perhaps a sense of humour (Ash Castles).

Good Evening Gentlemen,

It was a good turnout of 32 members last Sunday for a home game.

The game was individual stableford and the scoring was exceptional. Ian Streeter, our resident handicapper took out the honours with a massive score of 46 points (poor bloke had to take the knife to himself afterward). Ken Metse came in 2nd on 41. Brad Eather was 3rd place on a countback from Paul Winslade on 40 points. Chris Calwell rounded out the placings with 39 points. Great golf ! 😊

Eagle’s Nest was won by Heath Bennet on the 4th Enjoy your 3 balls mate.

Next game is our final game for the year and the venue is Merewether on 7/12/2025 tee off at 6.00am from the 9th . The game is 2 Man Ambrose.

Please note that the first 3 places in the starting order are reserved for committee members. Group 1 (Carrall/ Winslade Group) Group 2 (Sharkey/ Streeter Group) Group 3 (Solman Group) so the committee can get back to Central Leagues and assist with the set up for AGM/ Preso/ Xmas Party.

I can hear the chorus of whingers already but the committee getting preference in the batting order happens once a year!

Look forward to catching up at the game and enjoying a few refreshing ales at the Preso.
