What a great day out at our latest fishing comp! 🎣
We were treated to some good weather. While it was a quieter comp this time around, it didn’t take away from the fun .
It was fantastic to share the day with members from another fishing club, who all managed to land themselves a prize — well done! Our regular crew also had some great catches.
The skippy were definitely on the chew, keeping rods busy and smiles wide.
We wrapped up the afternoon with a stunning calm sky, great views, and a few well-earned drinks to finish things off 🍻
Thanks to Chem Alert for sponsoring this competition!
Looking forward to doing it all again. Our next comp will be over the June long weekend. See you there

đźš« All Discounts Suspended đźš«

It’s with regret we need to cease all discounts currently given at The Club.

We understand this not only affects our locals and seniors but our sporting clubs too.
We will continue to honour the annual $30,000 in sponsorship and support for our sporting clubs though we will need to closely monitor whether this is viable over the next 12 months.

We are currently faced with unprecedented rising costs and an uncertain 12 month period due to many factors such as fishing bans, fuel costs, supply increases, staff wages and sponsorships, alcohol tax, cost of power and gas, the list goes on, directly affecting the hospitality and remote tourism industry which is seeing venues close their doors each week.
We are in our 3rd year growth phase as a “new business” and are seeing long standing and robust 20yr established hospitality business close their doors. So we must take note and take action.

Mick and I took on the club in October 2023 to give it our best shot at saving what was certainly going to close.
We are still moving forward with our plans to renovate at our own cost because we believe (hope) at some point it will turn around and bounce back and we need to be ready for it to further strengthen the business when this happens so that at some point we can be reimbursed for the funds we have put in.
Please continue to support your club. I can’t put it anymore clearly than if you don’t, it won’t survive.
I feel like there may be a misconception that the club is fine now as it’s shown growth and stability since we took it in but please don’t be misinformed- it only thrives when it’s supported.
We set out with a 5 year plan to donate our time, energy and resources to rebuild and stabilise this club for the community. We have 2 years left.
Please keep doing your part and help us save this club 🖤💛
We will be putting a “PAY IT FORWARD” tip jar at the bar for those in a position to shout our seniors a beer or a meal. Mick and I will continue to contribute to this as well. Just hate the thought of our gorgeous seniors not getting out and socialising through not having the option to financially.
🙏♥️
