This week at the Cervantes Coast Yoga Shala we will be focussing on the feet, leading into standing poses.

Standing poses are usually a starting point in Iyengar Yoga as they align and strengthen the limbs and spine, developing balance, awareness, stamina, endurance and flexibility, removing stiffness and dullness.

Just what is needed for these colder inside type of days. They keep us stretched, warm and happy!

This beautiful Props Kit which we created for all the participants in our recent Rajasthan Yoga and Cultural Retreat/Tour, has arrived to me back home. 🙏🏻

The kit consists of 3 Yoga blankets which we also used as a bolster when rolled together, 2 gorgeous orange bricks and a vibrant 🧡matching yoga strap.

We sourced some beautiful sturdy cotton bags at market (my negotiating skills came to the fore here 😉) to carry the gear and make a useful and beautiful souvenir.

With these props, everything was possible for our practises throughout the journey and now back at home.

My friend in Rajasthan was commissioned to create the Logo for us and our wonderful Indus Bound guide, helped bring the vision to life by sourcing the highest quality 100% cotton blankets and arranging the embroidery of the Logo in Delhi.

Beautiful work, tremendous thanks to them.

Fond and heartfelt memories of our retreat for everyone and a colourful addition to the Yoga Shala ✨🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡✨

A huge THANK YOU to absolutely EVERYONE who has come to the Yoga Shala… those who built it, supported it, practised in it, supported me over the years of teaching in and around Cervantes!

It has been an amazing trip, a joyful achievement of my heart’s purpose to share Yoga with so many people.

Having a beautiful dedicated space like this has been a huge blessing for us all for the past 7 years! THANK YOU for COMING❣️

Time is short, so many photos, I will make up a movie after I’ve baked the cake for tonight’s class at 5:30.

Following our wonderful Rajasthan Yoga and Cultural Tour in March/April, I continued my journey to explore South India.

First, 12 magnificent days in a gracious, serene, healing resort retreat, south of Trivandrum in the beautiful state of Kerala 💚

A stroll through floral gardens with the birds awakening for daily 6:30am pranayama, meditation and Yoga classes, followed by Dosha-specific buffet breakfast, time for reflection, reading, deep conversations, classes, beach-walking or tours, until my afternoon of prescribed traditional Ayurvedic treatments ❣️

Evening flowed on with a peaceful chai and sweet from Uncle Chacha, overlooking the expansive and lively fishing beach scene, before strolling back through softly-lit sunset gardens for dinner.

This was cultural immersion of a profound authenticity, privilege and nourishment for one’s health and well-being.

I feel deeply grateful and am looking forward to returning. ✨🌿☀️
