A huge thank you to the Doolan and McEvoy Families, our Jump Night sponsors and incredible long-term supporters of the CPEC Members Club.
Our club is grounded in real stories and real people. Hannah Doolan, one of our judges tonight, started her riding journey at CPEC through our club nights, from cross rails right up through the heights. She grew with her ponies and is now representing Australia on the world stage, returning from Europe just two days ago and judging at Jump Night tonight, with a HSC exam on Monday too! Hannahβs mum, Claire, is still on our committee and continues to be such an asset to all we do.
Then we have the McEvoy family. Rhys and Jake grew up riding at CPEC nights, known for their incredibly speedy but carefully ridden rounds, rarely beaten and always exciting to watch. Now competing around the country at great heights, the boys still wander around CPEC, mainly helping young Eva as she gets the show jumping bug herself. The McEvoy family have been long-term supporters of our club and we are so grateful for all they do.
Jump Night tonight also had some key people whose connections to CPEC stem from these very nights. Isobel Guinness, our course designer and judge alongside Hannah, grew up at CPEC with Laz at Budapest Riding School. She has gone on to compete around the world in show jumping, achieving success across the globe. Rachel Thompson joined our committee many years ago because her daughter was learning to ride at CPEC. They got their first pony here, learnt and grew, and went on to compete successfully across many areas. Rachel resigned four years ago but jumped on board to support Nominate, entries and administration when we sent an SOS, and once again gave up her night tonight to help our club.
Community is key. Without it, we are not much of a club. We need new people, new stories and new reasons to keep this club alive.
What a fantastic evening of jumping, with riders of all ages and experience levels taking to the arena, building confidence, achieving personal goals and having plenty of fun along the way.
