Far West Gun Club held its annual Birthday Shoot for 2021 on March 5th, 6th and 7th. Competitors ranging from WA and all over SA travelled to enjoy the weekend with 33 entries for the weekend.

Friday night once the sun had fallen and Roger had cooked the BBQ, it was time for the first event for the weekend. 50 Target State Night Point Score Jack McInnis (Farwest) 147/150 was the outright winner. Geoff Parkes (Far West) 139/150 won A Grade. Grant Carter (Southern Yorke) 133/150 B Grade. Stephen Brice (Far West) 135/150 won C Grade. Sue Koch (Far West) 112/150 won Ladies. Pete Minhard (Ungarra) 137/150 won Veterans. Lachlan Koch (Far West) 107/150 won Juniors.
Saturday morning event 1 for the day was 100 Target Double Barrel, Ted Stringer (Pt Lincoln) 99/100 won overall. AA Grade 2nd Andrew Bury (Pt Augusta) 98/100. A Grade 1st Brendon Bradtke (Elsewhere) 94/100, 2nd Raymond Marshall (Whyalla) 96/100. B Grade 1st Andrew Atkinson (Streaky Bay) 92/100, 2nd Grant Carter 91/100. C Grade 1st Adam Koch (Far West) 91/100, 2nd Jackson Grocke (Pt Augusta) 91/100.
Next up was the 30 Target George Burnett Memorial Handicap Lachie Koch (Elsewhere) took the win with 30/30 beating Dennis Cumerlato (Whyalla) 30/30 in a shoot off, 3rd went to Jack McInnis 29/30 and John Tonkin (Pt Lincoln) 29/30 was 4th.
Sunday morning we started out the day with 50 Target Single Barrel, Barry Sims (Monarto) 49/50 took the overall. AA Grade 2nd Jack McInnis 48/50. A Grade 1st Lachie Koch 47/50, 2nd Brian Thomas (Pt Pirie) 46/50. B Grade 1st Andrew Atkinson 46/50, 2nd John Tonkin 43/50. C Grade 1st Tracey-Ann Haggerty ( Southern Yorke) 44/50, 2nd Jackson Grocke 43/50.
The final event for the weekend was 50 Target Continental Point Score, Overall was Barry Sims 147/150, 2nd AA Jack McInnis 143/150. A Grade 1st Roger Freeman 143/150, 2nd Lachie Koch 140/150. B Grade 1st Andre Atkinson 144/150, 2nd Geoff Parkes 126/150. C Grade 1st Lachlan Koch 136/150, 2nd Dennis Cumerlato 129/150.
The final presentations for the graded and overall high guns winners were, Juniors Lachlan Koch (Far West) 295/330. Ladies Sue Koch (Far West) 261/330. Veterans Roger Freeman (Far West) 300/330. C Grade Lachlan Koch (Far West) 295/330. B Grade Andrew Atkinson (Far West) 310/330, A Grade Lachie Koch (Elsewhere) 211/330. Overall Barry Sims (Monarto) 318/330.
