Great way to wake up on a Sunday morning. One of my 8 week challengers starting to smash things out of the park. This is almost 1kilo of FAT LOSS, NOT WEIGHT LOSS, there is a difference...the way I set my clients training and nutrition up means they maintain lean muscle mass whilst only dropping body FAT. Then once the fat loss phase is done with, we can work on a lean gain just to put the 100's and 1000's on and really make them look amazeballs. Really loving working with James and the others on this challenge and there is a stack of great transformations happening. It's why I do what I do!!




It will be at least another 2 or 3 years before I do this again, that’s how long I’ll need to convince my wife…but regar...

“It’s you against you kid” 🥊

Even fitness professionals can slip up!
Confronting for me and only fair that I share the before and after as I have with some clients journeys in previous posts. Not proud of the chap on the left, but there were some underlying circumstances- Covid, lockdowns, a bulk phase gone wrong, other mental demons that I’m sure we ALL fought over such a challenging period. But the photo was enough for me to say a change is needed, something the mirror can’t always tell you. So I challenge you to take that photo of your physique and it may well change your perspective- you will either say (a) I’m happy (and fantastic for you), or (b) I’m making the change (fantastic for you also!) you just need to take that action TODAY! Not Monday, not next month, not after a particular event!
And yes, a contest prep is a hell of a lot more involved than a regular fat loss or muscle gain phase, but the principals remain…if you want to do it then there’s nothing stopping you, just don’t fall victim to your excuses any longer!

Behind every man is an even better woman…rolling her eyes.
This woman has been an unbelievable support since we married 11 yrs ago, but immensely during the last 5-6 months. It was a gruelling process for everyone. Every punch I took she took with me and I can’t be grateful enough for her!
Now time for me to support any project she chooses…but first things first, a family holiday 🎉

Done and dusted and ticked off the bucket list!
When I decided to embark on a contest prep I heard some of the following….
- You’re a few months off 40!
- You have 3 small children!
- You work long hours!
- You have a busy social calendar!
- It literally can’t be done!

All very true, except the last one!!!

Will I do it again??? There is the X men titles in 3 weeks 🤔

I’ll sleep on that one, but in the meantime it’s 🍕 with those that helped me on the journey!! ❤️

WORKOUT INTENSITY
Are you in a state of flow i.e challenged yet enjoying your workouts?
If not you need to figure out how to get there.
Being overly challenged causes anxiety, then probably no willingness to back up your workout the next day. Too easy creates boredom and equally no willingness to go again the next day. As I keep saying- soreness, high heart rate, sweating are NOT always an indication of a successful workout. Not to say there isn’t a place for high intensity, there is, it’s simply understanding how and when to apply it

A huge Merry Xmas & HNY from AXF! Hope you all enjoy time with loved ones in what’s been a difficult year. If you are struggling for a gift idea, how about the gift of fitness, the joy of movement and properly addressing mental health? Rather than that piece of technology or a bottle of alcohol, give them something they can really be grateful for.

1 min pull up, well 50 seconds in this case. A nice way to finish a smashing back workout. Back/arms are pretty taxed now fair to say. Remember the pull up bar is your friend (except when doing 1 minute pull ups, then you don’t like it too much 🤮)

It hasn’t been a real quick journey but one to be proud of. Having worked with Andy for a bit over 12 months now, starting in the gym, then into a 4.5 month lock down in Victoria, meant we continued our journey online, making this all the more impressive and I was thrilled to get this most recent pic of him. It was all a result of consistency, showing up, questioning the status quo, trust and above all hard work on his end. The long game always wins! Given everything we faced in 2020 makes this a mighty effort, keep up the great work Andy (who isn’t on social media and won’t be reading this 😂)
