💙 150 Games for Catani 💙
Last weekend we celebrated a very special milestone for one of our own, Abbey Warde, who has reached an incredible 150 games in the navy blue and white!

Since stepping on the court in 2018, Abbey has become a much-loved member of our club. She’s our “Smiling Assassin”, she’s always the first to greet you with a smile, but don’t let that fool you… she’s got a sneaky competitive streak that keeps her opponents on their toes! 😄

One of the highlights of Abbey’s netball journey came this season when she achieved something truly special, taking the court in A Grade alongside her two sisters. A proud moment for the Warde family and a wonderful reminder of what community netball is all about.

Abbey, thank you for your commitment, sportsmanship, teamwork and the positivity you bring to our club every week. We love you and are so proud to celebrate this milestone with you and can’t wait to see what comes next.

🔵⚪ ROUND 8 SENIOR CLUB & ROUND 6 JUNIOR CLUB RESULTS 🔵⚪

A big day at Longwarry for Indigenous Round - very honoured to be a part of it!
Our juniors started the day well along with C Grade remaining undefeated and B Grade getting the job done. Plenty of Medals awarded to players for their efforts on court - we appreciate being a part of such an important round as we progress through Reconcilation.
Tough day for Reserves and Seniors plus A Grade, but we live to fight another day.

Congrats to Lilly McDonald on 50 games at Catani - it’s great to have you back at the Club.

While on Sunday our Juniors faced the might of another big town - Drouin Maroon, with the Under 10s getting back to back wins - singing the song again!

Just can’t get enough footy and netball on the weekend! 💙🩵🏉🏐

⚪🔵 ROUND 8 🔵⚪

This week we head to Longwarry for Round 8 🏉🏐

This round we proudly recognise Indigenous Round, which coincides with National Reconciliation Week ❤️💛🖤

A Smoking Ceremony will be held at 12pm on the football oval and we encourage all players, members and spectators to take part in this special moment.

We will also be wearing black armbands in memory of Catani Football Life Member Ray Jones, honouring his contribution and legacy at our club. 💙

The Catani Football and Netball clubs are saddened with the loss of Football Club Life Member - Ray Jones.
Ray with wife Wendy along with kids Shane, Jen & Mark - better known as Herb, came to club when good friend Steve Crowley was in charge of the Thirds.
Ray was great with this young bunch of boys, serving often as Team Manager but most importantly, looking after them - well, at least attempting to, on trips away!
Ray took on the Presidency role of the club, holding the position for five years, in what was possibly one of the best eras for the club developing on and off the field. Overseeing new club rooms opening in 1987 but most importantly, seeing the Clubs first premiership in the EDFL and the first in 36 years, the Reserves of 1990. Rumour has it, Ray shouted to the time keeper - “blow the #&$@! siren” late in the final quarter!
Ray’s legacy lives on with Shane & Herb having both played many games of footy for Catani along with son in law Ces Haysom and grandson Wade both becoming Catani Premiership Players. Daughter Jen played well over 300 games for the club, daughter in law, Karen (RIP) and granddaughter Kirsty - all who are Life Members of the netball club, plus Hayley who still is a part of the netball club now contributing many years on the court and the committee - one of the most involved families of the Football & Netball Clubs!
Ray was the number one ticket holder for the Football Club in 2023 and despite moving away, was always Catani through and through 💙
Condolences to the Jones/Haysom Families - we are eternally thankful to Ray and Wen for their contribution to our Club.

🔵⚪ JUNIORS ROUND 5 🔵⚪

This week our 10s and 12s took on Warragul Blue, while our 14s faced Warragul Dusties 💪🏉

A massive shoutout to our Under 10s who came away with a fantastic win! Great teamwork, effort and energy from the whole group 👏⭐

Our 12s and 14s had a tougher day on the scoreboard, but there’s still so much to be proud of. Footy is built on resilience, learning and sticking together through the hard games too 💙

Keep turning up, backing your teammates and having a crack legends. The wins will come 🌟

A massive day for the Catani Football & Netball Club with plenty to celebrate both on and off the field and court 💙🏐

👏 A huge congratulations to our Under 16’’s who secured their first win of the season! A reward for all the hard work, persistence and positivity they’ve brought each week.

🔥 C Grade continue their outstanding season, remaining undefeated and building some serious momentum.

And we celebrated some incredible milestones across the club:

Congratulations to Tahlia Morel on playing her 100th game for Catani against Nyora. Since stepping onto the court, Tahlia has become one of the club’s most reliable and respected players. Calm under pressure, fierce in defence, and always giving everything for her teammates.

Three premiership medals, multiple Best Final Player medals, Runner Up Best and Fairest - all before 100 games✨ Not bad for someone still so young in her netball journey 👏

We are incredibly lucky to have you in the navy blue and white, Tahlia. Here’s to the first 100 and plenty more to come 💙🤍
