What a great weekend which provided some close and fast racing for riders and spectators.

It was wonderful to see so many old bikes and old mates catching up for a fun weekend full of racing socialising and doing what they love.

NSW CLASSIC & POST CLASSIC DIRT TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP THIS WEEKEND
It is that time of year when old dirt track riders are working on a variety of older machines in preparation for the annual Classic Dirt Track meeting staged by the City of Penrith Motorcycle club at the Nepean Raceway this coming weekend, August 1-2.
The New South Wales Classic and Post Classic Dirt Track Championships are up for grabs in a variety of classes, while some classes that have attracted smaller entry lists will still feature over the two days as support classes.
There will also be a sprinkling of younger riders on show riding machines older than themselves.
A number of riders have entered multiple machines for the meeting which will not only keep them busy but surely test the fitness of some of the older brigade (of riders).
The two days are always marked by some great camaraderie between competitors, at least before the race and after the checkered flag falls.
But when the gate drops to start a race everyone will have a ‘race face’ on – even though they will not be racing for ‘sheep stations’.
Track action will commence at 10 am on both days – Saturday will feature practice sessions then three rounds for some of the support classes before a ‘’double feature”” to wrap up proceedings - two 25-lap races – one for Period 20 and Post Classic machines and the other for Classic machines.
On Sunday 10 championship classes and two support classes will battle it out over the 50 event programme.
One of the highlights of the programme is always the Super Senior class for riders over 70 (years of age) which has attracted a field of six, most of whom will laso be racing in other classes as well.
A number of competitors have been regularly involved in this meeting in the past and treat the weekend as a ‘must-do’ event which is evidenced by the numerous long-distance -distance traveller's who are heading to Nepean for this weekend.
While the host club have supplied the biggest number of entrants, riders from as far away as the Whitsunday Club in Queensland and the Mud’n’Tars club in Adelaide take the honours as the riders making the longest trip to Nepean.
One competitor duo will bid farewell to racing after this Nepean meeting with lady rider Donna Probin and her passenger David Martin set to have one final meeting on their Dirt Track Sidecar.

🐝Working Bee🐝

A reminder about our working bee this Saturday, 25th of July.

This is to prepare the track and grounds for our 2026 NSW Classic & Post Classic Dirt Track Championship on 1 & 2 August.

What we need to do helpers:
👉Mowing
👉Whipper snipping
👉Pressure washing (so be sure to bring spare clothes in case you get wet)
👉Gathering sticks and firewood
👉General tidy up
👉Trimming trees near track fence

Even if you can only help for a couple of hours, it will be greatly appreciated!

2026 NSW Classic & Post Classic Dirt Track Championship clarification on difference between Period 20 and Revolution.
Period 20 bikes 20 years plus old as at 1st January 2026. No modification will be allowed

Revolution bikes 20 years plus old as at 1st January 2026. Major components such as frame, swing arm, engine casings, cylinde(s) and cylinder head(s), body work must comply within 20 years plus same as Period 20. Revolution can have minor parts not of period such as suspension.

Difference: If you have a Period 20 (Per Period - Pure) you can ride in the Period 20 class and Revolution.
You cannot ride a Revolution in a Period 20 class.
