Over The Moon Yoga and Dance Studios Since 1990, a yoga and dance studio in Castlemaine, Victoria. For 2.5 yrs to adult. Martyn.

It has been over 30 years since Edna Reinhardt established Over the Moon Yoga and Dance Studios in Castlemaine. Over that period the school has built up both a wonderful relationship with the local community and a committed and dynamic dance and yoga teaching team. OTM teachers constantly explore new ideas in their relative fields of yoga, creative dance, contemporary dance and ballet. Sharing ideas about the art and method of teaching is important to the teachers and fundamental in bringing these disciplines into the lives of young people. Whilst OTM celebrates more than a quarter of a century in Castlemaine the culture of the school is in constant renewal as ideas and inspirations present themselves. In 2014 the ballet program included the Laurel Martyn syllabus taught by Edwynna Adams who was herself a student of Ms. In 2015
For Edna, the many students, who fill the studio with brave new moves and rich enthusiasm, are an inspiration.

Tomorrow is the Junior Performance Dress and Tech Run!🌙 Tomorrow our Junior Performers head to the Phee Broadway Theatre to practise on the stage and get familiar with the theatre, the backstage spaces and all the technical elements before the big day. It’s a relaxed and supportive chance to build confidence, practise together and share in our joy of dancing ahead of the big day! ✨

Dancers, please have a hearty snack after school and we’ll see you at the Phee at 4:00pm! We can’t wait! 🌙

✨ A thoughtful approach to performance ✨

At Over the Moon, we believe that children’s performances should celebrate creativity, expression and the joy of movement. Our choreography and costumes are always thoughtfully considered, with a strong emphasis on age-appropriate dance and costuming.

Students at Over the Moon don’t usually require makeup, unless it is to enhance the character of a dance. Our focus is on creating a positive, supportive experience where every dancer can feel comfortable, confident and proud to share their work on stage 🌙

🌙Ever wondered why we hold a dress and technical rehearsal? 🌙

For many of our dancers – especially the youngest performers – stepping onto a theatre stage is a brand new experience.

Our rehearsal week gives children time to become familiar with the stage, backstage spaces, lighting and theatre environment before performance day arrives.

It's a calm and relaxed opportunity to practise, support one another, and build confidence, helping every child feel ready to enjoy the magic of performing.

We can't wait to see the theatre come alive for this special event in September! ✨

At Over the Moon, performing isn't just about stepping onto a stage – it's an important part of how children learn and grow. Through the Junior Performance, students develop confidence, teamwork, creativity and resilience. They experience the excitement of rehearsing in a theatre, supporting one another backstage, and sharing the joy of dance with family, friends and the wider community. For many of our dancers, it's a memory they'll treasure for years to come. 🌙
