A big congratulations to our Senior Fours team of Joy Young, Peggy Wah U, Pam Lowe and Bobbie Cochrane who today defeated the Beecroft team of Merryl Gray, Elizabeth Rigelsford, Lesley Hines and Nel Davis in the Regional Playoffs of the Senior Fours 17-9 at Northmead Bowling Club.

Congratulations also to the Northmead team of Noreen Sneddon, Anne Hawkins, Denise Campbell and Deborah Murray who defeated Marlene Dunn, Valda Day, Margaret Cunningham and Gladys Barnes from Greenlees Park 25-22.

Both our Mitchell District Teams will proceed to the State Playoffs next year.

The final of the CHBC Mixed Fours was held this afternoon at the club with the team of Thelma Morrison,Alan Yap, Lan Lim and Beau Barry defeating Peggy Wah U, Noel Benson, Bobbie Cochrane and Paul Bryan 21-12 with some great bowls entertaining the spectators. Congratulations team Barry!

It was great to see so many lady members attend a surprise thank you Presentation to Theresa Potter after bowls last Thursday, celebrating her three years as President. It was held at this time as Pennants commence this week with our teams playing near and far, thus being the last day before the AGM when most bowlers were available. It was a perfect opportunity to photograph all those present on the green before our unification with men’s club after the AGM on 13th August, 2023.

Evelyn spoke about Theresa’s many hours of volunteer service to the club, Di presented a poem about Theresa and a slideshow of Theresa’s time in the club and
the VP’s Margaret and Anne presented a beautiful bunch of native flowers and a delicious cake to cut and share.

Thanks to Judy Day for making the lovely card and Leon for preparing the slideshow, of which Theresa was given a copy to keep.

Needless to say Theresa was completely surprised and touched!
