Black Flag Barbell Club

Black Flag Barbell Club Black Flag Barbell Club is a small strength/powerlifting club. Born from a belief that callused hands are a source of pride, and sweat is the best equity.

Black Flag Barbell Club was born out of a desire to provide a facility that promotes REAL training. From a belief that callused hands are a source of pride, and that sweat equity is a worthwhile investment . A place where you show up despite being tired, sore, and not having the time to train. A place where the person next to you will be there when you need it, and expect the same. A place where a

nyone willing to put skin in the game can learn to endure and overcome. Black Flag Barbell Club provides evening access, and coaching to assist members with technique and programming (at no extra charge). We are proud to offer competition grade equipment for powerlifting, and an incredibly badass little facility for those simply looking to be a little better today than they were yesterday.

๐Ÿ“ฃ APU Comp Recaps! ๐Ÿ“ฃ

Weโ€™ve had a few lifters represent the gym very well over the past two weekends at some sanctioned APU NSW Competitions, and we wanted to share their success with you. Itโ€™s been a big start to the year in terms of powerlifting, with what feels like a powerlifting competition happening every weekend for the past 2 months! Itโ€™s awesome to see the sport thriving once again, with all the lifters having fun doing so ๐Ÿ˜Š

Last weekend, we had two lifters compete at the Hunter Performance Centre Anniversary Cup in Newcastle!

Zayd (IG: .ghanawi ), our young 17 y/o lifter, had a perfect day for his first competition. Zayd went 9/9, hitting a 170kg squat, 120kg bench, and a 225kg deadlift. He had a 515kg total at 90.95kgs bodyweight. We did more than enough to qualify for states, and there was still plenty of room in the tank on each lift too. Weโ€™re definitely going to push hard over the next 5 weeks to secure an even bigger total. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ

Coach Zach (IG: ) made his APU debut after competing for so many years in GPC. He did a wonderful job, going 8/9, hitting a 200kg squat, 125kg bench, and a 250kg deadlift. This resulted in a 575kg total at 72.85kgs bodyweight. This was pretty much a warm up comp for Zach, as he looks to send it at his states competition in 7 weeks time. ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿฝ Zach gets coached by none other than Bethany Parker of Output Strength Systems! (IG: .s.s )

Just yesterday, we also had one of our strong female lifters compete at her first sanctioned comp, at the AAC Qualifier Cup II at Adonis Athletics Campbelltown!

Jess (IG: jessscook_ ), who has competed at 3 Black Flag Novice Competitions, had an excellent day on the platform. Once again, the goal was to have a good day and qualify for states, without pushing it too hard. Jess went 9/9, hitting a 100kg squat, 70kg bench, and a 115kg deadlift. She had a 285kg total at 68.2kgs bodyweight. It was an excellent performance by her, especially since it was her first time lifting at a gym outside of Black Flag! The goal now is to ready up for junior states in 5 weeks and have another successful day! ๐Ÿค™๐Ÿฝ

If you wanna check out their comp recaps, head to their Instagram pages!

Weโ€™re so excited to be able to have lifters branch out and compete. We wish them all the best as all three of them put their head down and do the work. Letโ€™s go!!!
