Most people start training with no idea where they’re actually starting from. No baseline, no data, nothing to measure progress against.

At XGYM your 3, 12, or 18 month membership includes a DEXA scan - a full body composition assessment before you start.

Body fat, muscle mass, bone density. Real numbers, not guesses.

A chin tuck can help your shoulder impingement. Here’s why.

When your head sits forward, the muscles at the back of your neck stay switched on when they shouldn’t. That tension limits how well you can move your arm overhead.

The chin tuck actively lengthens those posterior neck muscles to reduce that excess activation. Less tension at the top, more room to move.

UESCA Certified Ultrarunning Coach and XGYM member, Mario Buchs, recently wrote a research paper on what ultra-endurance running actually does to your body.

He tracked bone density and body composition across a full season of racing using DEXA scans here at XGYM.

Swipe for the key findings.

Mark made his long-awaited comeback after a hiatus, marking his National debut as an M1 lifter.

Squat: 185kg
Bench Press: 140kg
Deadlift: 245kg
Total: 570kg

Not his all-time best numbers, but a solid return to the platform.

This prep wasn’t easy, with Mark managing injuries leading into the comp. In the lead-up, he kept saying, “I don’t even think I’m going to compete”. Then, with 1 squat and deadlift session before comp day, he locked in.

With a new baby and first time as a Master’s Lifer, he’s glad he gave it his best.

Brad and Dan had a lot of fun handling.

Go, Mark!

A big thank you to and all the volunteers who make these competitions possible 🫶🏼
