Newcastle Dragon Boat Club Inc. is a dragon boat club located in Newcastle The first five sessions are free.

The club has evolved from a small number of dedicated people with a commitment and vision to dragon boating at a competitive level. The club consists of energetic, enthusiastic people who come together from all walks of life to take up the challenge and enjoy the dynamic sport of dragon boating. We cater for a range of different fitness levels and age groups. New paddlers are welcome and will be o

ffered advice for both on and off the water training. Anyone interested (who is 18 or over, and can swim 50m fully clothed) can just turn up and we will fit you into a boat.

This morning our club hosted the Newcastle/Hunter Chinese Association for their Annual Dragon Boat Festival.
There was an Acknowledgement of Awabakal/Worimi country in Mandarin by Stephenson and in English by Louise. This was followed with the Eye Dotting Ceremony, which is a traditional ritual that “awakens” the dragon. Special mention to Jamie who emceed and co-ordinated the event.
The Association is a generous supporter and donor to our Club and for this we are extremely grateful! We also thank our local member, Sharon Claydon, for her support!
It was an enjoyable morning and we thank all of our members who pitched in to make it such a success! ❤️💜

Two sensational sunny winter days at Wauchope for the Flamin’ Dragons Port Macquarie Regatta…this being Jo Mantle’s first!☀️
Saturday saw Newcastle rocket to the front to take out the $200 first place Dash for Cash!! 🍷🥂🍻
This was followed up by a strong performance in the 2km turn race…..earning 3rd place!!
Sunday was 200m racing where we made all the finals!!….🥁🥁
2nd Mixed 20’s 🥈
3rd Opens 10’s 🥉
3rd Womens 10’s🥉
Our coaches Pat and Claire did a sterling job organising their first regatta! We thank Mark for joining us again and his beautiful wife Elle for her volunteering duties.
Such a positive and uplifting weekend with a great crew!❤️💜
