The 2026 Nationals for IL & JL has come to an end.

🥉Our Intermediate League team finished with a bronze medal — an outstanding achievement and reward for the commitment, effort and resilience this group showed throughout the tournament.

Unfortunately our JL team didn’t get the chance to take the field for their final games due to the rain, but every time they did play, they represented the Gold Coast with energy, effort and a fantastic attitude. The way this group competed, supported each other and carried themselves throughout the tournament made the entire GC community proud. 👏

The thank you list is a long one today…

DAY 4 RECAP

⭐️Intermediate League

🥉 Bronze — and a performance to be proud of.

Game 1 at 9am delivered pure drama — a thrilling 5–3 elimination‑final win over Cronulla Black to lock in at least a bronze medal. Luku was outstanding on the mound with seven strikeouts across 6.2 innings, before Kahu stepped in to secure the final out.

The preliminary final was a marathon. A rain delay to start, then around 65 minutes of total stoppages across a four‑hour game. The Southern Titans eventually took it 7–3. Kahu and Isaac led the offence with two hits each, while Aidan battled hard on the mound, striking out five across 5.2 innings.

The boys showed heart, grit and plenty of fight all tournament long — finishing with a bronze medal and a whole lot to be proud of.

Unfortunately JL games were rained out.

IL battled hard in a great game, going down 3–1 against a strong Titans outfit. Tace was outstanding on the mound, throwing 6.2 innings and keeping GC right in it.

But the boys aren’t done — they get another opportunity tomorrow in an elimination final at 9am

JL wrapped up pool play with a strong 10–4 win over the Melbourne Twins.
Marcus led the way with two hits, while Ashton, Joshua and Harrison combined effectively on the mound in a strong pitching performance.

They now move into consolation play, hitting the field again tomorrow at 1:30pm.

Let’s pack the sidelines and back our boys.

Junior League ⚾️

JL went down 7–5 to Adelaide Marlins in a competitive opening game today. Ben, Jeremy, Nate and Banjo each collected hits, while the team applied pressure on the bases with seven stolen bases.

Game two saw Gold Coast fall 14–9 to Wanneroo despite out-hitting them 13–6. Banjo starred with four hits including two triples and two RBIs, while Marcus drove in three runs. Sebastian and Jeremy also collected multiple hits in a strong offensive performance.

Gold Coast now turns its focus to Saturday’s matchup against Melbourne Twins.

🟡INTERMEDIATE LEAGUE ADVANCE TO SEMI FINALS⚫️

Gold Coast are through to the Intermediate League semi-finals after a dramatic finish to Pool A.

The day started with a 6–0 win over Eastern Phantoms thanks to a strong all-round team performance. Jayden led the way at the plate going 3-for-3, while Reef, Isaac and Luku combined on the mound for the shutout. Kahu drove in two runs as the team collected 11 hits overall.

Game 2 saw Gold Coast needing to beat previously unbeaten Ryde Red by at least five runs to advance — and they delivered with a 15–8 victory.

A huge nine-run third inning proved the difference, with Reef driving in two runs and Jack launching a two-run homer as Gold Coast finished with 12 hits.

They now play 11.15am! Get down to Lismore and support our boys!
