🏆 𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗭 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗠𝗣𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦! 🏆

Up bright and early this morning, our Garryowen Camogie girls made the journey from Melbourne to Geelong to take part in the 𝗚𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗮𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗹 𝗛𝘂𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘇. ☘️

And what a day it turned out to be! 🔴⚫️⚪️

The girls got off to a fantastic start in the group stages, recording wins over Melbourne Shamrocks and St Kevin’s to book their place in the semi-final.

They then produced another brilliant performance against Wolfe Tones, securing their spot in the Finals against Melbourne Shamrocks.

With everything to play for, the girls dug deep and delivered when it mattered most, coming away with a goal victory to be crowned Blitz Champions! 🏆🙌

Everyone at Garryowen GAC would like to extend our warmest congratulations to former players Ryan and Chloe on their recent wedding on the beautiful island of Langkawi, Malaysia. 🌴🇲🇾

With their gorgeous son Tommy by their side, it looked like a truly special celebration and a day filled with love, happiness and unforgettable memories. ❤️

Both Ryan and Chloe were a huge part of the Garryowen family during their time with the club, representing our men’s and ladies’ football teams and always being on hand to help whenever they were needed. Their commitment, friendship and willingness to get involved both on and off the pitch will always be remembered.

🌟 𝗠𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗧𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 🌟

A huge congratulations to men’s footballer Shane Gilsenan and ladies footballer Amy MacMahon on an incredible performance at the 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗶𝘅𝗲𝗱 𝗗𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗛𝗬𝗥𝗢𝗫 last weekend! 💪🔥

🏆 Finished 145th out of 955 competitors
📊 Qualified in the top 15.3% across three days of racing

Not bad considering there was apparently no training beforehand whatsoever… apart from being absolutely mad in the head! 😂👏

Everyone at Garryowen GAC would like to extend our warmest congratulations to our hurling player and Camogie manager 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗿𝘆 and his fiancée 𝗔́𝗶𝗻𝗲 on their recent engagement back home in Ireland. 💕

Barry has been a fantastic part of the Garryowen family, both on the hurling field and on the sideline with our Camogie team, and everyone at the club is absolutely delighted to see him and Áine celebrating such a special milestone together.

We wish you both a lifetime filled with love, laughter, happiness and plenty of unforgettable memories as you begin this exciting next chapter together.

Everyone at Garryowen GAC would like to extend our warmest congratulations to former footballer Fionán and camogie player Niamh on their recent wedding, celebrated over the weekend at the beautiful Ashley Park House in Nenagh.

Fionán and Niamh are two true Garryowen Gaels whose commitment, friendship and dedication left a lasting mark on our club. While we miss having you both in Melbourne, it brings us great joy to see you beginning this wonderful new chapter together back home in Ireland.

May your married life be filled with love, laughter, good health and endless happiness. Thank you both for everything you gave to Garryowen - you will always be a valued part of our club family.

The 2026 campaign will undoubtedly go down as one of the greatest in the history of Garryowen GAC. A year defined by relentless commitment, incredible talent and an unwavering determination to succeed.

This remarkable group of players have etched their names into club history by completing an unforgettable season, capturing:

🏆 Ted O’Sullivan 9’s Champions
🏆 GGV CFMEU League Champions (Six League titles in a row!)
🏆 GGV Celtic Club Senior Football Championship Champions

To win one title is an achievement. To win four in a single season is something truly special.

Week after week, this panel set the standard for Senior Football in Victoria. From disciplined defending and fearless tackling to fast-flowing attacking football, the commitment shown by every player, mentor and volunteer has been nothing short of exceptional.

Behind every victory stood a management team whose dedication, preparation and belief inspired this group to continually raise the bar. Their hard work, along with the incredible support from members and supporters throughout the season, has helped make this success possible.

The individual recognition received throughout the year, including a host of GGV All Stars and Sean McSweeney being named 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗠𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿, is a testament to the quality within this squad, but above all, this has been a triumph built on teamwork, humility and togetherness.

This season will be remembered not only for the silverware collected, but for the pride with which every player wore the red and white jersey.
