💜FEMALE FOOTBALL WEEK💜

Female Football Week is a nationwide initiative to celebrate the immense growth of women’s football at all levels of the game and acknowledge and promote the important role women play in developing football.

On Monday 11th May, SGFRA had the privilege to send our young female referees to a special female football week training session hosted by Football NSW which was held in Sydney Olympic Park!.

They participated in normal training drills and even had fun with on the rugby field!.

We hope all the referees involved had an amazing time for this special opportunity 💜👏

2026 SGFRA Pre-season seminar.

Last Sunday, SGFRA held their yearly preseason seminar which occurs a few weeks before the season starts!.

Both sessions were filled with new referees who are ready to start their journey with SGFRA and returning referees from previous years!.

We would like to thank all that attend and we cannot wait for 2026 to kick-off in the next coming weeks!. We wish you the best for 2026!.💪

Former FIFA Assistant Referee runs SGFRA training!.

On Monday night we had the privilege of having Lance Greenshields a former A-League and current NSW NPL and Australian Championship assistant referee, attend training and run his very own session with our current and brand new referees!.

During the session, Lance did specific drills that are targeted towards assistant referees.

It was absolutely amazing to have Lance attend and coach our aspiring assistant referees. It was also great to see so many of our members show up for such and amazing opportunity!.

We would love to thank Lance for the time and effort he put in to run this session.💪👏

🎖️FORMER SGFRA REFEREE ACQUIRES FIFA STATUS🎖️

SGFRA is very happy to announce our former member Tim Danaskos has obtained his FIFA badge!.

Tim started his journey by attending the SGFRA Level 4 course in 2010 along with father and branch MPIO, Peter Danaskos – a father son duo!!

In 2013 Tim was elevated into the FSG Premier League panel, and in 2015 refereed the Premier League Reserve grade Grand Final between Arncliffe Aurora and Connells Point!.

In 2014 Tim became a dual member with Football NSW and started his career in the Football NSW RDP Program, and was appointed to the NPL1 U18 Grand Final between Sutherland Sharks and Sydney United in his first year!.

With his progression on track, the next season, he was appointed to the NPL1 U20 Grand Final between Marconi Stallions and Blacktown City!.

In the 2021-22 season, Tim got promoted into the Football Australia A-League Men's referee panel!.

Everyone at SGFRA would like to give Tim massive congratulations on obtaining his FIFA Badge. Hard work and commitment always pays off!.💪💪
