HOW DO WE DEVELOP LEADERS?
In order to become proactive citizens we focus on the following:
1. Master the Art of Failure: Teaching them to understand that failure is not a reflection of them as people, but a tool in which to understand what they need to build into new strengths.
2. We encourage proactive behaviour when the students face adversity or tough times. For instance, when we notice a student is practicing their push ups we acknowledge their hard work and perseverance until finally they perform a full push up on the toes. Praising attributes rather than the end result helps facilitate the desire to push through and learn.
3. We encourage goal-setting. This process allows students to assess their goals and identify foreseeable obstacles in order to create a game plan before the problem even arises. Many times, avoiding the obstacle altogether.
4. We practice helping others, everyday on and off the Mat. We love seeing our students helping their peers with tasks as simple as a Junior helping a Ninja tie their belt, or students practicing their Kata together.
