As we wrap up another successful season at Carine JFC, we’re proud to celebrate a fantastic achievement by one of our long-serving coaches.

Earlier this season, Paul Valentino was recognised by WA Football with a prestigious Coach Recognition Award, acknowledging his exceptional dedication and contribution to community football.

Across the entire Metro North conference, only two coaches were selected to receive this recognition, making it a significant acknowledgement of the time and energy Paul continues to give to junior football.

This commitment is reflected across many areas of our club. Paul is a Carine JFC Life Member, serves on our committee as Girls Coordinator, and has been a long-serving coach within our girls program. This season also marked the fifth consecutive year in which a team coached by Paul progressed to at least a Preliminary Final — an impressive record of consistency across several seasons.

Our coaches certainly don’t do what they do for individual recognition, but it’s wonderful to see that dedication acknowledged beyond our club.

Congratulations, Paul, on a very well-deserved honour, and thank you to WA Football for recognising the incredible contribution of community coaches. 💙👏

In a game worthy of the occasion, the boys battled through four incredibly competitive quarters against a determined Mosman Park. Trailing by 11 points at half time and still two points behind heading into the final quarter, they kept fighting before finally taking the lead with just five minutes remaining.

From there, they held on and finished strongly to secure an 11-point victory, 8.7 (55) to 6.8 (44), and a 2026 premiership! 🏆

Congratulations to Nic Whitehouse, recognised as best on ground after a fantastic performance, and to the entire playing group and coaching crew on an incredible achievement.

And what a sight it was around the boundary. Players and families from across our age groups came down to Charles Riley Reserve, with a loud Carine crowd getting behind the boys right until the final siren. Thank you to everyone who wore their blue and helped make the occasion such a memorable one.

After all the hard work, challenges and persistence throughout the season, what a way to finish 2026.

Congratulations, boys. 2026 PREMIERS! 💙🏆

From a challenging start to the season, through plenty of hard work, close contests and lessons along the way, our Year 10 Boys have earned the opportunity to play for a premiership tomorrow.

For coach John Stewart, it’s an especially meaningful occasion after four years coaching many of these boys. What began with a reluctant “I’ll give it a crack” has become an incredibly rewarding journey, culminating in a Grand Final appearance with a group he’s watched grow and come together as a team.

As John says, everyone wants to win, but whatever happens tomorrow, all he can ask is that the boys play their hearts out and walk off knowing they gave everything they could.

One more game for 2026, boys. Enjoy every moment. 💙

A look back at one of our favourite nights of the season, when our Auskick and Junior girls joined our Youth Girls at Friday Night Lights!

Our younger Cats warmed up alongside the older girls, joined in the pre-game activities, and then settled in to watch and cheer them on under lights. It’s always a fantastic opportunity to bring different age groups together and give our youngest players a glimpse of where their own Carine journeys can take them.

A huge thank you to all of our Youth Girls who generously gave their time before their own games to get involved, inspire our younger players, and help make the evening such a memorable one.

Our Carine community has one destination this weekend—Charles Riley Reserve, North Beach.

Following a preliminary performance that left a set of spectators speechless, Y10 return to the field one last time to settle a season-long rivalry with Mosman Park.

Wear your blues, pack the sidelines, and bring some popcorn, because this is a game you won’t want to miss.

Some more moments from earlier in the season, with Y03 White in action against Kingsway.

And with the junior season now wrapped up, there’s still one more opportunity to get behind the Cats! We’d love to see plenty of our younger players and families at Charles Riley Reserve in North Beach this Sunday at 1:00pm, supporting our Year 10 Boys as they take to the field in their Grand Final.

Come down, wear your blue, and cheer on some of the players our younger Cats can look forward to following through the club! 💙

Despite a valiant effort, our Year 7/8 Girls’ finals campaign came to an end on Friday night, falling just nine points short against Quinns in their Preliminary Final.

These photos take us back to the week before, when the girls produced an outstanding 55-point Elimination Final win over Mosman Park to earn themselves another week of finals footy.

While a Grand Final wasn’t to be, there’s plenty for this group to be proud of — finishing third in the top division, winning an elimination final, and joining a resilient group of Carine teams who have taken their seasons all the way to the Preliminary Finals.

Congratulations on a fantastic season, girls. You represented Carine brilliantly right to the end. 💙🩷

Another huge weekend of finals footy awaits, and all six Carine teams that entered the finals remain in the running for a place in their respective Grand Finals!

Y07/08F, Y09/10F, Y07 Black, Y07 Blue, Y09, and Y10 will all take to the field again this weekend, with everything to play for as we reach the business end of the 2026 season.

Whether you’re playing, coaching, volunteering, or cheering from the sidelines, get behind our Cats as they give it everything for the opportunity to play on the biggest weekend of the year.

Good luck to all six teams. We’re incredibly proud to have you representing Carine!

Last night our Y09 boys caught up with past Carine JFC player and Subiaco legend Brad Smith, one of the WAFL’s great modern-era forwards with 530 goals, three premierships and four Bernie Naylor Medals to his name.

Awesome to have a former Cat back around the club to help out at training! 💙
