Big shout out and thanks to Cardwell Country Club and The Hackers who sponsored last weekend’s Ambrose. It’s a big commitment and we appreciate their continued support.
John and Karl representing the Friday Hackers; Bernice and Toni on the BBQ tongs, Jordan on the Booze Bus and the whole Ambrose Team made the whole day run smoothly.
18 teams of 68 adults and 2 kids made up the field and the weather gods behaved themselves! Put that with a lot of laughs, cheers and great prizes and a good time was had by all (and more players eager to join the club! Bonus!)

On Sunday May 17th we held our third Women’s Champagne Breakfast Ambrose….. and what a day it was!
33 ladies joined in for a 9 hole Ambrose with teams made up of our Cardwell women members together with visitors (golfers and non-golfers). There was quite a lot of champagne consumed, quite a few sambuca shots downed, some great food and, believe it or not, we played some golf!!
There were Fairway Fillies; Bubbly Birdies; Champagne Chippers; Social Putterflies etc
We all agreed there were no losers on the day, but the team who actually came in with the lowest stroke score (in other words, the winners) was the “Elegant Eagles” made up of Sneza Lazarus, Lyn Hughes, Charlotte Bunyard and Amber Montgomery. Well done ladies!
A huge thank you to all those who made it such a successful day:
The Country Club for donating champagne and allowing use of their kitchen (and putting in a team to play)
Terry & Mamiko for donating a lovely fruit platter
Seabreeeze Café for some delicious egg/bacon muffins

2026 Cardwell Open Winners details.

The Cardwell Community Bendigo Bank sponsored our Open this year - not only with great prizes, but our local Bank ladies became course volunteers too! Thank you Bendigo Bank!
The weather let us down on Saturday, but was glorious on Sunday and showcased the course at its best.
All scores have been published and all winners and photos will be on the Website soon.
The small Sat raffle was won by Peter Topen, Lisa Spiegler and Dave Lee and the Cowboys Package raffle was won by Greg Corkill. Congrats. The two 100 board draws were won by Chris Taylor and Sue Fry who pocketed $300 each.
A huge shoutout to everyone who contributed to the weekend, both players, sponsors and volunteers.
