Carcoar Dam Sailing Club

Carcoar Dam Sailing Club Located at Carcoar Dam since 1973, our humble club offers access to Sailing as a competitive sport or hobby to all who live in the the Central West.

We are non-profit, incorporated sporting club with over 80 local members The Carcoar Dam Sailing Club is a friendly, family club offering racing and social cruising each Sunday during the warmer months. Established in Orange during the 1960's at Lake Canobolas, the Club relocated to it's current location in 1973 when it became the Carcoar Dam Sailing Club (C.D.S.C). We have a small fleet of club d

inghies (Lasers, Spiral and Open Bic) available for members, a rescue boat, windsurfers and kayaks, and a well equipped clubhouse with a kitchen, hot showers, ammenities and BBQ. The club has wonderful views of the dam and is surrounded by native trees, making an ideal camping ground for visiting sailors and their families. The Club is working towards being able to offer a 'Learn to Sail' program for adults and children in the future. We are hoping to earn a NSW Sport grant to help facilitate the program, assemble a small fleet of appropriate vessels and train coaches. Our committee is working with Australian Sailing to gain accreditation to run the program. At this stage we have no immediate start date due to the regulations and infrastructure involved in establishing the program. If you are interested in being informed on when we are ready to launch the program please send us an email at: [email protected]

We were so privileged to be invited to a special event at MANLY | ANZAC Sail 2026.

Edward proudly representing CDSC this season.

SWVP has been supporting CDSC since we met at the Australian Sailing Awards in 2025. Thanks to the strong connections built with Australian Sailing, this season the veterans played a key role in helping secure two donated Taser training boats for the CDSC program.

The Saltwater Veterans Sailing Project is proudly and uniquely positioned as an ACNC-registered veterans’ charity and, since 2023, an Australian Sailing affiliated club and mobile Discover Sailing Centre.

Moments like this reflect the strength of the sailing community, the support for our veterans, and the powerful connections built on the water.

CDSC has been working to make sailing accessible to everyone. As the Club grows, so do the opportunities to show that sailing is not just a coastal sport, but an inland one as well. By supporting events across the Central West regional areas, CDSC is also contributing to state & national events tourism, bringing sailors and communities together in new and exciting locations. CDSC encourages more sailors to take part in events like these—because in the end, you can sail anywhere.!
