A new nautical-inspired playground for Amor St Park.
We recently completed this playground for Hornsby Shire Council, creating a welcoming space that celebrates the story of Captain Edward Robert Amor, after whom the park is named. Developed in collaboration with council and informed by community consultation, the playground gives local families a place to climb, explore, swing and play together.
At the heart of the playground is a large nautical-themed Omnitech tower designed for young and old captains alike, with a range of climbing and play activities to keep children engaged. The playground also includes a two-bay swing with infant, strap and basket seats, providing play opportunities for a range of ages and abilities.
A nature trail has been incorporated into the existing rock landscape, encouraging balance, movement and exploration, while the Bonnie Boat Rocker features inclusive seating and a sensory steering wheel that supports imaginative play.
The result is a playground that blends traditional, nature-based and imaginative play in a space the community can enjoy for years to come.
Thanks to Hornsby Shire Council for the opportunity to be involved.
