Capalaba parkrun is a FREE weekly timed 5km event for runners of all standards, which takes place every Saturday at 7am in Capalaba, QLD Australia. First timers run brief will be held at 6:50am and general run brief will be at 6:55am each week. Capalaba parkrun is FREE and open to people of all standards and ages, both as volunteers and as runners / walkers. We encourage people of every ability to

take part, from those taking their first steps in running to Olympians, from juniors 5 years or older to those with decades of experience. All runners receive encouragement and enjoy being part of a community event open to all standards. Equally, our volunteer teams come from a huge variety of backgrounds and we urge everybody to get involved in organising their local events at least 3 times per year.

This coming Saturday we need first base/ bar code scanner Marshall and the Greyhound Marshall . Are you able to volunteer? Lost property. We have a collection of tops left last week. They will be available to collect on Saturday.

Thanks all who joined us this morning with a special thanks to those who volunteered! Michael still needs 2 Barcode scanners for next week. One can be a quickish runner and one must double up and cover first Junction marshal as well. Also need a Marshal for Greyhounds and a Photographer.

We're almost all set for event #588 tomorrow, just desperate for a 2nd Junction Marshal and would really love a photographer if anyone is able to help out. Please comment on this post if you can do the Marshal and I will add you to the roster. I would prefer not to have to beg in the morning.
One of our regulars Sophie Chadwick has made up and donated some Barcode sorter containers that we are going to trial tomorrow. (see the photo below). Once you have scanned, just pop your barcode into the correct numbered slot on the table. It all helps us when doing the final sort. Thank you Sophie!
Important times:
6.40 - volunteers arrive (training if needed)
6.50 - first timers brief
6.55 - main run brief
7.00 - parkrun.

Midweek shout out! Thanks to all that have put their hands up to volunteer this week, we are only needing a Second Junction Marshal and if possible a Photographer for Saturday. Please reach out if you would like to fill one of these roles.
