🌟 Volunteer Week 2026 at Moriarty Park Community Sports Centre! 🌟

We’re thrilled to celebrate the incredible contributions of all our volunteers this year. A special shout-out goes to Rickie Glockler, whose outstanding commitment in 2026 has truly made a difference!

Rickie has been a vital part of Moriarty Park and its sporting clubs, dedicating her time and energy in countless ways. From serving as our secretary, collaborating with the many community groups and committees, organizing fundraising events, sports person of the year, sponsorship & grant writing, her passion and dedication shine through.

To show our heartfelt appreciation, we gifted Rickie a hot air ballooning experience with Go Ballooning Gold Coast — a special way to thank her for making our community a better place.

Thank you, Rickie, and thank you to all our volunteers! Your efforts create a stronger, happier community. 💚🙌

Moriarty Park Sportsperson of the Month: April – Mt Tamborine Canungra Junior Cricket Team

This April, Moriarty Park is delighted to spotlight the Mt Tamborine Canungra Junior Cricket Team as our Sportsperson of the Month, celebrating their passion, determination, and camaraderie. The Tamborine Canungra Cricket Club’s open juniors team exemplifies the true spirit of grassroots sport—a close-knit group of mates and siblings who share not only a love for cricket but also a genuine friendship that extends beyond the pitch.

The season was filled with memorable moments, none more electrifying than their semi-final clash. With only one run needed for victory and the opposition on the brink of snatching it away with one wicket remaining, the boys displayed incredible nerve and composure. Against all odds, they held their ground, securing a heart-stopping win that sent the community into raptures.

Building on that momentum, the team faced the grand final with unwavering spirit and resilience. Although they didn’t take home the trophy, their effort and sportsmanship were nothing short of inspiring. Their support for one another, respect for opponents, and unwavering “never-give-up” attitude highlighted the true essence of sport.

More than just cricket players, these young athletes are ambassadors of friendship, respect, and community pride. Their season may have ended, but their story is a shining example of what grassroots sport can nurture—lasting friendships, character, and the joy of playing the game.

Congratulations to the Mt Tamborine Canungra Junior Cricket Team on a fantastic season. You’ve made your club, your families, and your community incredibly proud.

Canungra Area Golf Club could be lost.

The land we operate on is being considered for sale as part of a Defence divestment process—and once it’s gone, it’s gone.

This isn’t just a golf course.

It’s where friendships are built.
Where volunteers give their time.
Where families connect.
Where Defence personnel and veterans find space to reset, stay active, and support their mental health.

For over 50 years, this club has been run by the community, for the community. It costs nothing to taxpayers—and gives everything back.

Losing it means losing:
• A community hub
• A safe, active outdoor space
• A vital connection point for Defence members and veterans
• A piece of Canungra’s identity

🕸👻 Canungra kids really know how to make the most of dressing up in their scariest costumes at the Pink Kids Halloween Disco, as part of the Turning Canungra Pink event series.

🎃 🧙‍♀️ It's always a spooktacular night of jack-o-lanterns, spiders webs, witches and trick or treats! Of course the night isn't complete without the glittering disco ball and music!

💕 We love your enthusiasm for raising awareness and fundraising for locals diagnosed with cancer.
