Saturdays 2:30 to 5:30pm, starting 4 March 2023 for 10 weeks during ANU's first semester (see below for exact dates), the popular DANCING THROUGH THE AGES returns!
For years our Saturday afternoon 'DANCING THROUGH THE AGES' one of the most fun dance sessions you could do anywhere- with beginners and experienced dances all being catered for in the same long session, with beginners enjoying learning from scratch, experienced dancers enjoying being extended, and everyone making it fun for each other. The series was interrupted in 2020 and 2021 but made a very successful return in 2022 and is running again in 2023. By the dances we choose and the way we teach we will be as Covid safe as possible.
The sessions are held on the beautiful wooden floor in the big upstairs Studio 1 at the Australian National University Sports Centre. Learn dances in all sorts of formations, rhythms and styles from the Renaissance and Baroque eras through to the time of Jane Austen, Dickens, the Bordonians and beyond. Have fun and get fit while making new friends. Added fun and sense of reward can be had at the live music revision socials that are added on each semester.
Classes will fall in 2 five-week blocks:
Saturday 4, 11, 18 & 25 March and Saturday 1 April, followed on Sunday 2 April with afternoon live-music class social at tutor’s home ‘ballroom’ then, after 2 week break, Saturday 22 & 29 April, and Saturday 6, 13 & 20 May, followed on Sunday 21 May with afternoon live-music class social at tutor’s home ‘ballroom’.
Fee is the same as its been for some years: $120 for students, $160 for others, and everyone is welcome!
The course is always great value, so do join us!
