For the third consecutive season, Melbourne Stars CC has booked its place in the Punjab Cricket League Final. Even more special, we have reached the final in both editions of the Punjab Cricket League since it began.

This achievement belongs to every single person who has worn the Melbourne Stars jersey.

To our current squad—your commitment, hard work and belief in each other have once again taken us to the biggest stage.

To every past player who helped build this club into what it is today—thank you. Melbourne Star Cricket Club is proud to announce that we have made it to the Final of the Punjab Cricket League Canberra 2025, organised by Canberra Eagles, securing back to back finals appearances. ⭐️

It has been an incredible tournament for us. Strong performances with both bat and ball, great teamwork, and a collective effort from every player. The way the team switched on during the quarter-finals and semi-finals truly showed the character, commitment, and belief within this group.

🏆✨ We Are Champions Again! ✨🏆

Melbourne Star Cricket Club has done it once more — Champions of the Canberra Premier League 2025! ⭐️

Our boys put up an incredible performance in the Final against Green Hawks, finishing strong with a total of 201/5 and defending it brilliantly to secure the title. 💪

🔥 Batting Highlights:
• Riaz Uddin – a blazing 53 (32) with 7 fours!
• Muhammad Saif Shafqat – solid 45 (32) at a strike rate of 140+.
• Mushtaq Khattak – explosive 29 (13) at a strike rate of 223.08!

🏏 Bowling Brilliance:

Every Melbourne Star bowler stepped up to the challenge!
• Ali Moazzam – miserly spell of 1/15 in 4 overs (econ 3.75).
• Nabeel Rasheed – 1/7 in 2 overs, top economy 3.50.
• Nabeel Aslam (c) – led from the front with 1/20 in 3 overs.
• Muhammad Saif Shafqat – 2/23 in 2 overs, striking at key moments.
• Mushtaq Khattak – all-round hero, 4 overs, 40 runs, 2 crucial wickets.

We kicked off our Winter Season T20 Tournament with a thrilling encounter against one of the best teams in Canberra, Queanbeyan Tigers, and what a match it was!

✨ Welcome to Our New Stars!
A warm welcome to our newest Melbourne Stars Muhammad Haroon, Faiz Sohail, and Ali Moazzam, who made their debut in style and played match-winning roles.

🔥 Batting Performance
Batting first, our openers Riaz Uddin (32 off 14) and Hamid Mehmood (31 off 20) provided a flying start, setting the foundation for a massive total.

In the middle order, Muhammad Haroon (27 off 24) and Faiz Sohail (68 off 40) played a sensible yet sensational partnership, ensuring the momentum continued. Faiz was the standout performer, taking charge of the innings and smashing a brilliant 68, guiding us to a total of 208/5 in 20 overs.

🎯 Bowling Brilliance
While Queanbeyan Tigers got off to a master blaster start, our bowlers Faiz and Ali Moazzam turned the game around with their exceptional, unplayable spells. Their impact changed the course of the match, securing our first win of the season!
