Aikido Yuishinkai Canberra/Personal Safety Self-Defence/Kenjutsu - SMR

Aikido Yuishinkai Canberra/Personal Safety Self-Defence/Kenjutsu - SMR Yuishinkai Aikido/Personal Safety Training Self-Defence/Kenjutsu - Shinto Muso Ryu Study Group AIKIDO YUISHINKAI - Adults, Children (5-13+).

SCHEDULE, LOCATIONS, FEES - Go to canberraaikido.com.au for details. This includes an emphasis on training in Ki, as well as Aikido technique, Aiki Ken (sword) and Aiki Jo (staff) and knife. Not just an effective, practical martial art, the mind and body skills are intended to be used in daily life. Yuishinkai specialises in openly teaching the Shiden, the "hidden-in-plain-sight" that the founder

Ueshiba Morihei wanted everyone to learn. PERSONAL SAFETY - Self-Defence programs for children, teens, women and over-65s. These focus heavily on recognition of emerging situations, on recognition of your own and others' behaviour in social and physical situations, and on choosing responses based on your own values and pre-made choices and the relative danger in the situation. Assertive behaviour and self-defence techniques are taught to manage the situation, and, if necessary to enforce your values and choices. KENJUTSU - Traditional Japanese sword from the 1600s period is taught as well as Aikido Sword. Kenjutsu has much to offer in training the mind and body.

A difficult year, but our Aikido, for both Adults and AikiKids, ended on a great note. There was very significant growth in understanding and performance across the board. Use of the Principles (the Hidden-in-Plain-Sight) is becoming embedded, which has taken hard work but is providing amazing benefits.
Thank you for your effort on and off the mat, trust me, it is sincerely appreciated.
I am very grateful for the discipline and thoughtfulness re sanitising, mask wearing and vaccination in both groups. You kept each other safe, with no Covid events in any of our 13 weekly classes. Thank you!

We have a Holiday program running Jan10/11/12 for AikiKids and their friends. It runs from 9am-12 for 5-8s, and continues to 1pm for 9-Teens. Contact me if you wish to book in and for more details

AikiKids classes resume Monday 31 January.
Adult classes resume Wednesday 12 January.

We are really looking forward to seeing you all again soon!

23/10/2021

Lockdowns finish on the 29th, so we will be resuming all AikiKids and Adult classes indoors from Sunday 31st. At last!!!!

For the AikiKids it will be a shorter term, with 6 weeks left in the school term. However, there will be a Holiday program for the AikiKids and for anyone 5-16 wishing to experience Aikido for the first time. All welcome! Bring a friend!

The holiday program includes a broad look at Aikido providing both basics for people new to aikido and exploring areas not usually seen in term classes. It also includes aikido sword and staff.
There are always games for fun, and activities that are both fun and assist aikido skills.

Look forward to seeing you all inside soon.
