🥊 A MESSAGE TO THE FIGHTSMITH FAMILY 🥊

After a lot of thought, FightSmith Boxing Academy will officially close its doors on Wednesday, September 30.

This is due to the sale of our building and the upcoming construction of apartments on the site.

All memberships after August will be cancelled. For September, members can either book into classes or pay a flat $10 per session.

We haven’t decided what the future holds for FightSmith just yet, so don’t count us out completely.

A massive thank you to every fighter, member, parent, coach and supporter who has been part of our journey. We’ve made some incredible memories, friendships and watched some amazing fighters grow.

🥊 SUNDAY ROUNDS

Two of our boys, Dan and Rocky, got some solid rounds in at Boxing ACT comp sparring today.

Great experience for both boys, getting in there, putting the work in and continuing to sharpen things up.

Big props to Aaron from Valley Boxing for making it all happen and giving the boys the opportunity to get some quality rounds in. 👊

That’s what it’s all about — getting rounds, getting experience and getting better.

🥊 That’s a Golden Gloves Wrap!

And that’s a wrap on Golden Gloves 2026!

Couldn’t be prouder of this team. Every fighter stepped through those ropes, put it all on the line and represented FightSmith with plenty of heart, courage and determination.

Wins, losses, close decisions and plenty of lessons — that’s what boxing is all about.

A massive effort from everyone involved, and a huge thank you to our coaches, families and supporters who get behind the team every step of the way.

Super proud of every single one of you.

🥊 ROCKY🥊

Rocky started his final bout like an old car on a cold morning… 😂 Took a few rounds to get the engine running!

By the time he hit full revs, he just couldn’t make up the points. Still dug deep, finished strong and walked away with a Silver Glove 🥈🥊

Next fight, we’re starting the engine before the first bell! 😂

Proud of you, Rocky. Onto the next one!

The Man Doug 🥊

Next up we had Doug, who stepped into the ring for his semi-final and left absolutely everything in there.

It was an extremely close points decision, and in our eyes, Doug had done enough to get his hand raised.

Unfortunately, the judges saw it differently.

That’s boxing sometimes — you don’t always get the result you deserve, but you always get the experience. Doug can hold his head high after a fantastic effort and a performance he should be proud of.

Plenty more to come from this bloke. 💪🥊

Zac’s Official Debut 🥊

Zac made his official bout debut with an impressive effort and showed plenty of heart, composure and determination.

Unfortunately, he came up against a very talented southpaw from Sydney and went down on points after a hard-fought battle.

A loss on the scorecards, but definitely not a loss in experience. 💪

Zac has now got his first one under the belt, and there’s plenty more to come from this young fighter.

We’ll be back. 🥊

📣 School Holiday Break

Just a reminder that there will be no kids boxing classes during the school holidays.

We will be taking a 2 week break and look forward to seeing everyone back in the gym when classes resume.

⚽🥊 Great to have the Belconnen United First Grade squad in the gym tonight for a boxing session!

The boys brought plenty of energy, worked hard, and stepped outside their comfort zone to take on something different. Boxing is a great way to build fitness, discipline, teamwork, and mental toughness, qualities that transfer directly onto the soccer field.

Thanks for coming down and getting involved. We wish the entire team all the best for the rest of the season and look forward to seeing your success on and off the pitch.

A great trip to Bega for the boys, with three valuable exhibition bouts and plenty of lessons learned along the way.

Doug got the opportunity to share the ring with our good mate Matt from Cuz Boxing, putting all his hard work and training into action.

Rocky took a big step forward, testing himself against an older, more experienced boxer and showing just how much he has developed.

To top it off, Zac made his debut ring walk and delivered a strong performance, showcasing sharp boxing skills, great composure, and an impressive work rate from start to finish.

We’re incredibly proud of all three lads for the effort, courage, and dedication they showed throughout the day. Experiences like these are what build great fighters.

A big thank you to our Head Coach, Jay, for giving up his time to take the boys to Bega, support them in the corner, and help guide their development. Opportunities like these are invaluable, and we’re grateful for the commitment he continues to show to our athletes.
