The Cavalry colours are black and orange with The Fort being decked out in lots of orange padding! This professional baseball team works hard to promote the growth of baseball and a family friendly fun night during the summer time.

OWNERS UPDATE

After withdrawing from the up-coming season, the ABL has chosen to terminate the license agreement with the current ownership group. We have indicated the desire for the Canberra Cavalry to be included in a restructured league in 2026 and the ABL have stated to us that they do see a team being based in Canberra again soon. What that looks like is unknown at this stage and whether we will be involved is out of our hands. Due to this, as we have no further rights to the team, we will begin winding up our involvement with the Cavs for the foreseeable future.

We would like to thank all of the people involved with the Cavs who contributed to our ultimate success in 2025. Our players, coaches, game day staff, sponsors and supporters all played a part in bringing home the Claxton Shield to The Fort. We are immensely proud of this achievement and it was a great reward for all the hard work and investment put in over the past few years.

A full email, including details for those that have paid for future memberships will be sent out to our database in the next week. All website and social media updates from then will then be handled by Baseball Australia.

Due to the ongoing uncertainty about the ABL competition following the withdrawal of Sydney and Melbourne, yesterday we notified the Australian Baseball League that our club will not take part in the 2025/26 season.

Players and coaches have been advised.

While this has been a difficult decision, we felt this was in the best interest of the long term viability of the Canberra Cavalry and the ABL as a whole. We have NOT handed in our license and expect to be involved in any new structured competition from 2026.

A fuller statement will be released by the club in the coming days.

𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙠 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙀𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙚.

It is with great sadness that the Cavalry would like to advise that our incredible Assistant GM, Emilie Hall will no longer be with our organisation. Emilie has been offered an amazing position with Volleyball Australia, which she will take up immediately.

On behalf of the ownership group, the players, and our loyal supporters, we all wish to thank Emilie for her tireless efforts over the many seasons that has ultimately built up to our goal of winning the Claxton Shield.

"Both Paul and I are devastated with this news. Emilie has been the heart and soul of the Cavs and what she does both in front and behind the scenes could never be underestimated" (Adrian Dart). We wish Emilie all the best in her new position. We know we will see her around the ballpark.

The Cavalry, like many across the Australian baseball community, are saddened by the news that the Melbourne Aces have withdrawn from the upcoming ABL season. We know this is difficult news for players, fans, members, and supporters of the game, and we share in that disappointment.

However, our focus remains firmly on the future. We are working closely with the ABL to ensure a competitive season ahead. The Cavalry has worked both on and off the field to build a strong and community-focused organisation and we are committed to continuing the momentum as we look ahead.

While this news presents new challenges, we are considering all options as we await more information on the 2025-26 season. We will keep you all updated as soon as more details are available.
