A terrific insight into WAs elite futsal scene!
Supa-Liga Summer 2024/25 Wrap-Up
The Supa-Liga Summer 2024/25 season has officially concluded and it was the biggest in Western Australian futsal history. This season saw 29 clubs field 168 teams, with 46 referees officiating across 1,385 matches, and 83 staff members supporting the operation from start to finish.
The season ran for 192 days, beginning with the opening Men’s Supa-Liga B clash between the West Coast Cobras and Lions Futsal on the 4th of October, and concluding with the Men’s Supa-Liga C Grand Final between Arqam Eagles and Northern Hawks on Sunday, the 13th of April.
Over the course of the season, teams scored a combined total of 9,201 goals across seven venues in the Perth metropolitan area. The Under 11 Supa-Liga recorded the highest goal-per-game ratio, averaging just under 13 goals per match, while our youngest stars in the Under 7s averaged over 8.5 goals per game.
In our top-flight competitions, 228 men’s and women’s Supa-Liga matches were live-streamed, with commentary, match statistics and stop-clock rules, adding up to over 15,500 minutes of futsal and attracting nearly 75,000 views on YouTube. The live-streamed Grand Finals and the Men’s Supa-Liga promotion/relegation play-off drew more than 6,000 online viewers and nearly 2,000 live spectators. The most-watched matches of the season featured Rockingham Cambio Cumbre, West Coast Cobras, Northernn Hawks, South Perth Alliance and Cockburn Wolves.
Futsal WA continues to invest in the growth and visibility of futsal. Participation is rising steadily, with team numbers growing from 122 in Summer 2023/24 and 81 in Winter 2024, to an anticipated 140 teams for the upcoming Winter season. This year, we acquired three new Veo cameras, enabling the recording of approximately 800 matches, including an increasing number of junior games.
A huge thank you to our incredible staff, volunteers, club members, administrators, coaches, managers, and of course the players. We’re proud to be growing this game together with the WA futsal community.
Presentation events will be held on Saturday, 3rd May at the Hyde Park Hotel in West Perth, where we’ll celebrate our Grand Finalists and individual award winners from the Summer 2024/25 season. Full details will be sent to clubs shortly.
