This year's 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗱𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗮 𝗖𝘂𝗽 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮 journey has once again ended at the semifinal stage, and what a way it ended, with another last-over thriller.

A huge thank you to all the Warriors who were part of this season. Your commitment, effort, and contributions helped us reach the semifinals, and we fought until the very last ball. Because of that, we can hold our heads high and be proud of what we have achieved.

There are still individual highlights to celebrate. As of the semifinal stage, Iftekhar Qureshi is leading both the MVP and Best Batsman leaderboards, a fantastic achievement.

I would also like to extend my sincere gratitude to all our overseas players who represented us throughout the tournament. It has been an absolute pleasure playing alongside each of you.

Now it's time to take a well-deserved break for a few weeks before we regroup and prepare for the next tournament.

Bangla Warriors Canberra have qualified for the Knockout Stage of the 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗱𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗮 𝗖𝘂𝗽 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

A huge thank you to all our teammates. Your hard work, commitment, and contributions throughout the tournament have helped us secure a place in the top four.

We now look ahead to the semifinal, where we will take on BD Stars Canberra on Sunday, 14 June 2026, at Lyneham Oval 210.

Match 31: Bangla Warriors Canberra vs BD Stars Canberra

A crucial final round encounter as both teams aim to strengthen their position on the points table heading into the knockout stage.

BD Stars, the defending champions, currently sit at the top of the ladder and have the best Net Run Rate in the competition. Their consistent performances throughout the tournament have once again established them as one of the strongest contenders for the title.

Bangla Warriors, meanwhile, have shown great intent and consistency this season. Currently placed third on the ladder, they remain firmly in the race for a top-two finish. The Warriors batting unit has been in outstanding form, producing several big scores and carrying strong momentum into this contest.

The rivalry between these two teams has been closely contested over the years. In their previous five meetings, BD Stars have won three matches, while Bangla Warriors have claimed victory twice.

With both teams in excellent form and plenty at stake, this promises to be an exciting contest. Let's see who finishes the group stage on a high note.

Warriors won this match twice. First against RhinoZ, and second against our own restrictive mindset. Chasing 197 against any team is never easy, but we handled it like pros. In fact, this is the highest successful run chase ever for Warriors in T20 cricket.

After winning the toss, Rhinoz chose to bat first. They started aggressively with a over boundary in the very first ball and kept the scoreboard ticking throughout the innings. One thing that stood out was their running between the wickets. They scored 70+ runs through strike rotation, which showed how active and smart they were on the crease.

But regardless, Warriors' batting response was full of intent from ball one, with one belief in mind: we can do this.

Iftekhar and Pushkar batted with pure class. They completely outplayed Joseph and Syed, who were their key bowlers. Then came the real middle order cameo from Rivu and Sojib, whose 52 (28) run partnership carried forward the momentum created by Iftekhar and Pushkar’s brilliant 90 (50) run opening partnership.

The equation of 46 runs in 5 overs quickly became 29 from 4 overs after Rabiul smashed 17 runs in the 16th over. Rabiul and Farhad built a crucial 49(24) run partnership to finish the job comfortably.

Our net run rate has consistently stayed above Rhinoz, and the best part - not a single player scored a fifty. Warriors has never been a one man show. When everyone contributes and plays to their potential, we always walk away with glory.

Now all focus shifts to the last group round match against table topper and last year's champions BD Stars Canberra.

The Shadhinota Cup Canberra 2026 journey for Warriors is right on track. Back-to-back 200+ scores and consecutive wins have pushed the team into the top four after Round 5.

However, the job is far from done. With the way teams are performing this season, nobody can afford to relax. Every match is crucial in this tightly contested tournament.

Canberra Conquerors almost snatched the glory from Warriors in the last match. Chasing a massive target of 204, they pushed Warriors all the way before being stopped at 190/6. What a game the boys witnessed yesterday.

Both Khurram and Iftekhar delivered outstanding performances with both bat and ball, but Khurram’s all-round show was simply spectacular and earned him the Player of the Match award.

Two more rounds to go, and the next challenge awaits against RhinoZ.

Bangla Warriors Canberra are also participating in the Super8 Community Cup alongside the Shadhinota Cup Canberra. The team has produced the same result in Super8 as well, winning 2 out of 4 matches.

The main goal of Super8 is to strengthen team rapport and keep cricket going for players who are unavailable on Sundays.

With four more matches remaining, Warriors are hoping to secure a place in the knockout stage.

Warriors started the tournament with a major setback against Canberra Cricket Academy, then bounced back strongly against Untitled Canberra. Another tough loss came against Tiger SC, but the team responded brilliantly with a win over Kacchi Boys Canberra.

With three matches remaining in the race for the knockouts, Warriors will now face Canberra Conquerors, Rhinoz, and BD Stars Canberra.

Khurram Shahzad and Iftekhar Qureshi were awarded Player of the Match against Untitled Canberra and Kacchi Boys Canberra respectively.

There’s nothing constant in cricket. Same team, same venue, but completely different results. A 65-run loss in the first match followed by a 10-run win in the second shows how quickly things can change.

On our day, Warriors are capable of beating any team.
