Lake Purrumbete Angling Club.

A successful AGM last night with a strong committee re-elected. Some positions within the structure have changed and all the best to the new committee. Now is the time to get behind your club and its future.

All thoughts and ideas will be given a good listening.

The club has offered a variety of destinations for our competitions this year with three weekend trips. Some assistance is offered for the Rocklands trip so get in early.

A surprise event to top the night off was the announcement of two new Life Members to our club. Marie and Darren Jopling.

Not quite 20 years of continuous work and committee participation.

We were so lucky to have 4 Life Members in attendance last night.

Congratulations to two most worthy people.

Final reminder. Our AGM will be held this Monday night 10th August. 7.30pm at the clubrooms.
Nomination forms for positions available on the night. Hope to see everyone there. Also our next comp 16th June Curdies River daylight until 12.30 weigh/measure in at Boggy Creek boat ramp. With plenty of rain hopefully Lake Purrumbete will be slowly filling and getting back to normal.

Reminder Folks. Our AGM and General Meeting will be held on Monday the 10th August 7.30pm at our clubrooms. Nomination forms for positions on the executive and committee will be available on the night. Everyone welcome. Supper provided. Our next comp will be at the Curdies River with Camperdown AC on the 16th August. Daylight until 12.30 weigh/measure in. Hope to see a few there.

Gday Folks. Memberships for our 2026 -2027 season is now due, only $20 which represents excellent value for anyone who gets involved. Fishing competitions, our general meetings which are more of a social night and club functions. A great way to learn from and mix with like minded people. LPAC had its first Competition for the season in the Curdies River today in conjunction with Camperdown AC. 11 people braved the conditions and although the fishing was slow some nice fish were entered. Tim Heinze got the chocolates with 3 Bream and 1 Estuary Perch, Biggest Bream went to Roger Tolland with a nice 39cm model. Other successful anglers were Wayne Hately 3 Bream, Jim Boyd 3 Bream, Tim Heinze Jnr 2 Bream, Eamon Heinze 1 Bream and Doug Jarvis 1 Estuary Perch. Great to have LPAC and CAC joining together for most of our comps. LPAC uses a measuring system to score the fish so most can be released after a photo is taken on a bragmat. Our next comp will be on the 19th July at the Hopkins River. Anyone interested in joining the fun can contact myself on 0447573705 for more details.

Great day today as our club and its members celebrated the 2025 -2026 season. Plenty of winners taking home prizes including Club Champion Craig Mitchell, Runner Up. Don Swayn and Junior Club Champion Eamon Heinze. Allyssa Connor and Mia Heinze got an encouragement award and Grant Dodds will now be known as the “Batman” after somehow managing to catch a bat while fishing at Rocklands and receiving the bat trophy which I doubt will ever be repeated. Looking forward to our next season starting next Sunday in the Curdies River. Anyone wanting to join the fun give me a call 0447573705.

Gday Folks. Just a short Post to let everyone know that long time member Anne Hems has passed away. Anne and husband Rob have been solid contributors to our club over a long period of time and she will be sadly missed by the many club members who got to know Anne. Our Condolences go out to Rob and daughter Libby and her grandchildren.
