Great day today as our club and its members celebrated the 2025 -2026 season. Plenty of winners taking home prizes including Club Champion Craig Mitchell, Runner Up. Don Swayn and Junior Club Champion Eamon Heinze. Allyssa Connor and Mia Heinze got an encouragement award and Grant Dodds will now be known as the “Batman” after somehow managing to catch a bat while fishing at Rocklands and receiving the bat trophy which I doubt will ever be repeated. Looking forward to our next season starting next Sunday in the Curdies River. Anyone wanting to join the fun give me a call 0447573705.

Gday Folks. Just a short Post to let everyone know that long time member Anne Hems has passed away. Anne and husband Rob have been solid contributors to our club over a long period of time and she will be sadly missed by the many club members who got to know Anne. Our Condolences go out to Rob and daughter Libby and her grandchildren.

Reminder everyone. Our last comp for the season will be this Sunday at Lake Purrumbete or Lake Bullen Merri. Dawn until 12.30 Weigh/Measure in at LPAC clubrooms 12.30pm. Free BBQ. Also our presentation day is coming up the 14th June 12 Noon at the commercial Hotel Camperdown. Anyone wanting to come along RSVP to myself 0447573705. ASAP. This is always a great social day and get together.

Reminder everyone. Our May general meeting is on this coming Monday 7.30pm at the clubrooms. All welcome. Our next Comp will be on the 24th May at either Lake Purrumbete or Lake Bullen Merri. Daylight until 12.30 pm weigh/measure in at the clubrooms. Hope to see you all there. Don’t forget our Presentation day will be at the Commercial Hotel Camperdown on the 14th June. Should be a great social day to wind up our season.

Just returned from our Rocklands fishing weekend between CAC and LPAC. Fishing was ridiculously terrible as it can be at Rocklands. Honours must go to Robbie Nichol with sheer weight of numbers in tiny Redfin. Catch of the day (or night) went to Grant Dodds who somehow managed to catch a bat while night fishing. The only fish of any size was caught by myself, a dirty big Carp that suicided on Saturday evening. Despite the lousy fishing was a top weekend with good company and great spot

We have our Rocklands Reservoir competition in 2 weeks time the 2nd and 3rd May. If you’re wanting to come along and stay at Rocklands House you will need to contact Russell Pickett on 0430784940 ASAP. If you haven’t already.

Gday Folks. A reminder of upcoming events. 12th April will be our next comp at the Hopkins River in conjunction with CAC. Measure/Weigh in at Jubilee Park at 12.30 pm. Our next general meeting will be on the 13th April 7.30pm at the clubrooms everyone welcome. We then have our Rocklands weekend comp. 2nd and 3rd April. Accommodation at the Rocklands wall. This is a 2 day competition with the final Measure in at 12pm Sunday 3rd at Rocklands house. We need to know numbers for the weekend to organise accommodation at Rockland House. Please call Russell Pickett if you’re interested in coming along on 0430 784 940. This should be a great weekend chasing some of our native fish at a new destination. Cheers Craig
