Developed and run by a current firefighter/ former Australian soldier, you will be pushed out of your comfort zone and taught how to work through the mental barriers you face with energetic, high intensity group training. With 2 deployments and 3 years experience as a Combat Fitness Leader in The Australian Army, you will work with a tough trainer with a passion for fitness. Focussing on full body

circuits, high intensity interval training (HIIT) and using a combination of traditional and cutting edge techniques and equipment he will help you reach a new level of health and strength. Each session incorporates both your cardiovascular and muscular systems to speed up the fat loss and toning up process – sessions are achievable for all fitness levels. PowerMove is for men and women who are serious about achieving real results - and will train with the determination of a soldier to achieve them! The motivation to start begins with you, but the motivation to reach your goals will come from the results; improved cardiovascular fitness, core strength and a toned body. With affordable payment options, basic nutritional advice, a range of session times and a motivating, friendly and experienced trainer; you’ll be on the road to making your own power moves.

I’m going ALL THE WAY UP! Tomorrow morning myself and a bunch of other firies from across the country are taking on Sydneys Centrepoint Tower in order to raise funds for Motor Neurone Disease research. We will be racing up all 97 flights of stairs in full structural firefighting gear weighing around 20kg as part of
I’ve got a donation page set up and would really appreciate if you could get behind me and chuck a couple bucks in. Even the smallest of contributions are a huge help against this insidious disease. πŸ™πŸ»

3 REASONS YOUR FITNESS IS NOT WHERE YOU WANT IT TO BE.
1. You lack motivation to make fitness a priority.
2. You want to be fit but lack the knowledge or direction.
3. You workout but your program is not specific or suitable.
I would confidently say that most people struggling to achieve a good standard of fitness will relate to at least one of these points. Whether you know it yet or not. The good news is, pretty much everyone has been at one, if not all of these stages at some point, even the fittest of people and they can ALL be overcome!
Improving your fitness should be a priority for everyone even if just for good health and longevity but for occupational/tactical athletes this is a non-negotiable!

Orio Palmer - Battalion 7 Chief.
At 45 Orio was renowned for his exceptional level of fitness. He was the first FDNY member to be awarded the departments Fitness award 5 times. This award was later renamed the Orio Palmer Fitness Award in his honour.
On September 11 Orio single handedly fixed an elevator in the south tower and took it to the 41st floor, he then sprinted the subsequent 37 floors to lead his team to the 78th floor; the floor of impact. He began sending radio messages and assisting in the evacuation of the occupants before the collapse.
His wife after later hearing his recorded radio transmissions said;
β€œI didn’t hear fear, I didn’t hear panic. When the tape is made public to the world, people will hear they all went about their jobs without fear, selflessly.”
Orio was the epitome of a dedicated firefighter fit for duty who all firies should aspire to be like. Although this tragedy took place half way across the world, today we remember Orio and the 342 other members of the brotherhood who courageously lost their life’s trying to save others.

Fire + Rescue NSW have officially announced that the Permanent Firefighter recruitment campaign will be open for applications in November!
Meaning you’ll potentially be conducting the PAT in December or January. Do not leave this to chance!!’
Grab a copy of the PAT program and feel confident going into this years recruitment.
General strength and conditioning, PAT specific workouts as well as supplementary reading to give you an idea of the cognitive testing and insight into the desired qualities of firies!
