A great card coming up on December 9th, put on by Sydney Fight League
Ben Savva will be taking on the Philippines' Dennis Padua for the OPBF title
BEN SAVVA - FIGHTER BIO
29 year old Ben Savva, of Great Yarmouth, began boxing aged 12 at Kingfisher ABC. He went on to build a successful amateur record of 19 wins and 3 losses. Like all good amateurs he considers two of his losses out right robberies.
Ben’s favorite fighter growing up was the showman Prince Naseem Hamed. Captivated by Hamed’s arrogance and flair, Savva sought to emulate his idol, but quickly realised he is far too nice a person to carry on in that manner. Not one for bravado, Savva studied and mimicked the switch-hitting style championed by products of the wincobank gym, making it an essential part of his boxing repertoire. Ben’s favorite active fighter is Vasyl Lomachenko as “he does things that seem impossible.”
On the UK regional scene Savva likes to keep an eye on the Walsh brothers (Liam, Ryan and Michael) his former stable mates and is inspired by their success.
Targeting a big title fight in Asia in 2017, Savva's bout with Dennis Padua is the first step to fulfilling this goal. The tried and tested Padua has battled the region's strongest prospects and this bout serves as a barometer for Savva’s development, as he seeks to gain a world rating. To quote Ben, “I don’t really have my eyes on anybody in particular, I just want to keep winning fights & stack my shelves with belts and believe me, I have plenty of shelves to stack.”
With success in his upcoming fights Ben is hoping to gain TV exposure & sponsorship, so that he can train full-time and fulfil his undoubted potential. Ben has recently started a new role as Boxing Coach and Personal Trainer, at Boxing Works in Surrey Hills, teaching group classes and personal training.
Ben's team consists of Head Coach (legendary Australian Kickboxer and Boxer) Adam Watt, Snow Bridson /Conditioning Coach, Daithi Mccabe/Strength Coach and Chiropractor, Gavin Gordon.
Come and support Ben Savva, as he seeks to add the OPBF belt to his NSW Title. The show will be held at NORTHS in Cammeray with an undercard featuring some of Australia’s finest professional and amateur boxing talent.
