Camden Rugby Juniors - Round 1
Under 9s (Camden 50 - Campbelltown 0)
Great first hit out for the U9s, keeping Campbelltown to nil, scoring 50 points of our own. Very positive start to the year with every player playing with great spirits. We saw some dominating running from Hudson, Dustin and Jahmarley. Fantastic debut for Ellie playing her first game of rugby too.
**Ram of the Week went to Levi for showing off his quick footwork and solid tackling**
Under 11s (Camden 5 - Campbelltown 70)
Camden U11s travelled to Bowral on Sunday to take on a strong Harlequins side, showing plenty of heart and determination throughout the match.
Despite facing a well‑organised opponent and the game going to mercy rule, the Camden players never dropped their heads. From the opening whistle, the team displayed great grit, working hard in defense and continuing to support one another right to the end.
There were some strong tackles, committed runs, and great effort at the breakdown, with every player giving their best and backing up their teammates. Even as the scoreboard became challenging, Camden continued to show sportsmanship, resilience, and a willingness to learn and improve.
Most importantly, the kids kept trying, listened to their coaches, and represented Camden Rugby Union with pride. Well done to all players for their hard work and never‑give‑up attitude.

Under 12s - (Camden 68 - Campbelltown 10)
What a way to kick off the season!
Our U12s came out firing in their first hit-out, running away with a huge 68–10 win over Campbelltown Harlequins. The team’s already showing awesome chemistry, backing each other and playing with real confidence! Big things ahead for this crew as the season rolls on.
**Ram of the Week: Max**
Under 13s (Camden 69 - Campbelltown 5)
Camden U13s produced a strong performance from the opening whistle, maintaining their intensity and structure throughout the match. The set piece was particularly effective, giving the team a solid platform to launch several powerful, well‑timed runs from the backs. This really showcased the hard work the entire squad has put in during the pre‑season.
The depth on the bench also made a noticeable difference, with each substitution slotting in seamlessly and adding fresh energy that complemented the team’s overall strategy. Every player understood their role, communicated well, and supported one another, an excellent reflection of their growing cohesion and maturity as a group.
Campbelltown Harlequins proved to be strong and spirited opponents, competing hard at the breakdown and applying good pressure right until the end. Despite a few moments of indiscipline from Camden, the team refocused quickly and continued to work together, ultimately securing a well‑earned win.
A great collective effort, and an encouraging sign of what the season ahead could look like.
Under 15s/16s (Camden 64 - Shoalhaven 14)
Great result for Camden U16s with a 64–14 win over Shoalhaven in Bowral. Conditions were ideal, with a sunny afternoon that cooled into perfect rugby weather.
A strong improvement from pre-season form was evident, particularly in reduced penalties, improved tackle technique, and better discipline at the breakdown. The team adapted early to the game plan and executed it effectively throughout.
The match was played in great spirits, with Shoalhaven unfortunately short on numbers early in the season. Players were shared and rotated between teams, reflecting the strong sportsmanship on display. It was a great contest played with respect, minimal issues, and a real focus on development from both sides.
A very pleasing performance across the park, with contributions from everyone. Coaches are extremely happy with the progress shown. Man of the Match to be announced Wednesday night. Best of luck to Shoalhaven for the season ahead.
