Boroondara Club Person of Year. Finalist Drossos Haramantas
Congratulations to our wonderful Treasurer Drossos for being acknowledged as one of the finalists for Boroondara’s Club Person of the Year Award!
Drossos has served on the ECTC committee for almost 10 years and dedicated countless hours to the club, going above and beyond what would be typically expected of a volunteer. His love for tennis shines through in everything he does, and he channels that passion into giving back to help make our community so vibrant.
In addition to looking after the Club's financial position, he has also managed our Governance. Over the past 2 years he has led the implementation of best-in-class policies around Member Protection, the Safeguarding Children Code, as well as OHSE. Drossos has diligently created procedures, run training for Committee members, as well as managed compliance. This work has led to best-in-class member safety at ECTC.
Drossos' work has enabled the committee to maintain visibility on how members and the community engage with the Club, through courts bookings and Club usage. This allows us to create a positive playing environment, whilst maintaining financial sustainability.
Drossos also works closely with Helen and Patrick to provide a positve onboarding experience for new members. New members receive information on how to access courts through Book A Court, receive their keycard to access the Clubhouse and are alerted about Club programs they can join.
If all of this was not enough, Drossos' passion for the Club also results in him ensuring the Club looks pristine! He has spent countless hours this year watering our new garden to nurse it through summer, tidying up the Clubhouse by removing old items from storage and managing supporting suppliers to ensure the facility is sparkling! He is the first to volunteer to cook on the BBQ for social events such as the Club Championships and the last to leave because he is there cleaning dishes or tidying the kitchen.
As all who know Drossos would agree, he is known for his humility, never seeking praise for all that he does. Drossos takes immense pride in the club’s accomplishments. He is truly a local inspiration - congratulations on this much deserved acknowledgement Drossos!!
