WOW is the word that Howard Campbell loves to hear his clients saying about his “Wood on wheels” Cedar teardrop Campers. (WOW Campers) Having worked with timber all of his life, his love for using Western Red Cedar saw him establish his own business building Hot Tubs and Saunas for the past 2 decades. Taking the same Cedar profile that he uses for his Hot Tubs he decided he would attempt to build
a Cedar Teardrop Camper which became a labour of love but seemed an unachievable dream. After rigorous R & D and design testing in 2011/12, and despite having some major manufacturing challenges it was decided to do an Initial “soft launch” to determine market interest and gain public opinion and comment on the design concept. While the response was positive, the design issues at that time appeared unsolvable and Mr Campbell chose to disband the project, dissolving to Camper venture and returned to building Hot Tubs and Saunas. Earlier this year, Mr Campbell decided to have another attempt at completing the project and with advancements in technology and sciences, was able to resolve the design issues and is now confident in taking the Wood on Wheels (WOW) Campers to the market. Mr Campbell believes his Campers are a work of art, each one beautifully crafted and offering a unique appeal that will be the pride and joy of each buyer. The manufacturing of the Wood on Wheels Cedar Teardrop Campers is completed on the Sunshine Coast in a shared Workshop at 6 Daniel St Caloundra where Mr Campbell works with community group Gateway Care. He offers his technical expertise and training support to volunteers and Work for the dole applicants that participate at the workshop.
