The 2013 STEVENS BIKES Husky MTB Marathon has been run & won. The STEVENS Team faired quite well on the day. Here is a brief rundown on the results.

Tom Green - 3rd Outright / 2nd open Men.
Andrew Arthur - 4th Outright / 3rd Open Men.
Troy Fisher - 6th Outright / 1st Masters Men.
Phil Mawbey - 7th Veteran Men. Sick & had a nasty fall on his head.
Mitch Codner - 11th Open Men. Good to see Mitch back after some time off the bike.
Emma Bussell - 4th Lady / 2nd Veteran Woman. Emma suffered a fall thanks to no fault of her own not long into the race as can be seen on this video. To her credit, she got up battered & bruised, fixed the bike & was the very last rider of all start waves to get going. Remarkedly she passed 350 men & women to be the 4th woman accross the line & still managed a ride time (despite all that traffic) that would have seen her challenge for the outright Womens win! Great effort Emma.

Here is a short video of the start of the first wave of riders in the 50km event, where all 6 of the STEVENS Team can be spotted. Thanks to Rob Green for the footage.

Thank you to the Team & supporters for your assistance over the course of the weekend with the set-up & pull-down, among other things. We couldn't have done it without you.

James Williamson Enduro Challenge.
Congratulations to Andrew Arthur on taking the WIN in the Open Male 50km Category in a very tough field.
Mitchell Codner made a welcome return to MTB Racing as well, bringing home a solid 2nd place in the Under 23 50km Category.
Well done guys, appreciate your efforts!

Stevens Bikes have once again taken overall honours in the SAZ Rankings in Germany, voted on by local industry across 8 categories. The SAZ Ranking has been the most important ranking of all bicycle brands industry wide!

Plenty of Triathlon action last weekend as well!
Ashlee Bailie put in another amazing race at the ITU Pan American race in Lima, Peru. Ashlee came off the bike with a 2 minute lead, but unfortunately a hip injury got the better of her during the run & she finished 4th. Ashlee will now return home a month earlier than anticipated to allow her hip to recover before her assault on the European calendar.
Not to be outdone, Ashlee's older brother Ryan, put in a fantastic effort at his season opening race, the ITU Oceania Sprint Championships in Devonport, Tasmania. Ryan lead the elite mens field over the closing kilometres but was just pipped at the post in a sprint finish! 2nd on the day for Ryan.
Young gun Jake Montgomery was also in Devenport, & finished 4th in the Junior Elite category of the Australian Junior Championships.
Well done to all! Big season ahead with all 3 athletes hitting up European events in the coming months.

Young Jake Montgomery took outright honours in the Husky Sprint Distance Triathlon over the weekend. Every leg was outstanding, but he absolutely smashed the bike leg to pieces aboard his STEVENS Stratos. Congrats Jake!

A solid win for Stevens Bikes at Round 5 of the Single Track Mind Series at Rydal in the Blue Mountains on Sunday. The Team consisted of Andrew Arthur, Mitch Codner & Troy Fisher. Both Mitch & Andrew were putting down some super impressive lap times, with Mitch putting in the fastest lap of all riders for the day, on his last lap! A great day out. Well done guys.

Congratulations go out to Mitch Codner, finishing 3rd in todays 5th Round of the National Cyclocross Championships at Terry Hills, NSW. Having to start mid pack, Mitch quickly made his way to the front of the field by lap 2. Mitch's early effort took its toll mid race allowing a break of 2 to create a small gap, leaving Mitch alone in no mans land back in 3rd, with a small chasing group working together behind. Rather than being absorbed into the chase group Mitch put his head down & put more time into the chasers in very windy conditions. A very lonely race, but a very well deserved result. ALL HEART! Well done Mitch, & good luck tomorrow at Rd 6.
