🏁 Road Racing Association of Townsville hosted the 2026 Come and Try Day / Practice on Saturday, at our home track at Calcium.

🏍 A big field of riders, nearly all of whom, have not been on a race track before, came along to see what all the fuss is about.

😎 All rides were escorted, and everyone was riding with far more confidence by the end of the day. Perfect Townsville weather and a big field of Clubman and Practice riders also showed how to have the most fun on two wheels.

👌One new rider was spotted fitting the panniers back on his SV650 for the ride home, and was asked for his thoughts, "𝘛𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘩𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘵, 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘴𝘯'𝘵 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘴𝘰 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦, 𝘐'𝘷𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘥 𝘢 𝘧𝘢𝘣𝘶𝘭𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘥𝘢𝘺!"

RRATs next event is the two day SEJ Championship on the 13th and 14th June. . . Join the club, register & we'll see ya there!🙂✌

🐝 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗲𝗲 & 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲!!!

All the conveyor belt is now erected, 100mts of tyres went out and were covered, we have only 185mts of tyres to go on turn 7 to 8.

Thanks to Erin and Ben for cleaning up the conveyor belt strips around the shed with assistance from Dale and Wes.

Generators are serviced.

All bins emptied.

It was a very productive day. Spoilt for food we were. Many thanks to all who attended.

🏍 It's almost time for our Come & Try Day! The C&T day is the best opportunity for newbies to taste the track life and see what all the fuss is about!!! Everyone is welcome & you don't need a track bike, bring your road bike and give it a lap on the track.

🏁 RRAT will also be will running a Practice Round for our regular racers to do some fine tuning on their machines! This also gives the Come & Try riders a chance to check out what the racers are riding on the track and have a mingle & chat to our friendly RRAT members

🏁 𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗 𝟮 𝗪𝗥𝗔𝗣 𝗨𝗣

☀️ A full moon and glorious Townsville weather set the scene for Round 2 of the Road Racing Association of Townsville Club Championship.

🛣 The brand new sealed road in was welcomed by all and thanks must go to Townsville City Council and BMD for their concerted efforts to get it finished on time, with encouragement from Driveit.

👕 Club stalwart, Max Diplock, was presented with a signed club shirt by vice president Jason Allen, for his tireless dedication and work for the club. Thanks Max!!!

⭐️ Some highlights from the day;
Wes Karsten starting from pit lane and finished 5th overall in F3/Supertwins Race3.
Photo finish for 1st in Lites Race2
And "secret testing" carried out on "revolutionary" new race tyres.???
A big field and lots of smiles seemed to sum it up best.

📢 Exciting update on the new road!

We have exciting news! The new bitumen road in is set for completion before the May long weekend! We have to thank the council and contractors for helping achieve this monumental step forward for the facility! Bring on the May long weekend of motor sport!

🏁 𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗 𝟭 𝗪𝗥𝗔𝗣 𝗨𝗣

🔴 RRAT would like to thank vigorously the officials, volunteers and competitors for a fantastic Round 1 on Saturday.

🍔 Track set up Friday afternoon, deluxe food Friday night by Tim and Karla and then a big day of Clubman and racing on Saturday.

🔧 Lots of broken down bikes would suggest keeping the trophy winning machine in top condition was not a high priority for some in the off season.

😄 Great to see some new faces to Clubman and to racing.

💸 Thanks to AMX for their $100 voucher donation, that was given to Amber who took on additional flagging responsibilities in the afternoon.

🟩 Nominations for Round 2 are now open. Come along and have the most fun you can have on 2 wheels!
