Winter Snappers on the S**e Hooks NZ 6/0 Inline Circle Hooksβ„οΈπŸŸ

It was a tough day early on, with 𝑲𝒂𝒛 𝑢𝒕𝒔𝒖𝒃𝒐 putting on a clinic while I spent most of the session trying different rigs, baits and tactics. Stuck at it, kept adapting, and was rewarded with the two biggest snapper of the day right at the end.

Sometimes the best lessons come before the best fish.

Father Daughter wharf fishing, back where it all started for me fishing with my mum and dad.

We're using Sasami Sabiki rigs from which makes things easy and tidy

Salted Blue Mackeral from can be kept in the fridge at home, easy to cut at the wharf as it doesn't require defrosting

A relaxing sunrise fishing mission 5 minutes from the boat ramp, we're using some ultralight gear, I'm on 6.5lb braid on an Ocean's Legacy Quest and we catch a good amount of pannies, undersized snappers, and a nice 45cm on the 10g Roven Mini.

I add in some tips and techniques that works for me when light jigging, along with a good look at what jigs and micro-softbaits we use.

We did a father daughter day at the Hutchwilco NZ Boatshow 2026 - setting some missions for ourselves and recording it all on video.

-best family fishing boat
-cool and useful fishing gadgets
