Grab a basketball, bring your energy and come join the Cairns Spectres for a morning of basketball, laughs, new friendships and plenty of PRIDE! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Whether you’re a seasoned baller, haven’t played since school, or have never picked up a basketball before — this session is for YOU. 🙌

Cairns Spectres Play with Pride was all about showing up, getting amongst it and bringing your WHOLE SELF to the game. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Buckets were dropping.
Tunes were pumping.
The laughs were LOUD.
And the Cairns community absolutely showed up. 🙌🔥

Because basketball hits different when everyone gets to be exactly who they are.

No judgement. No pretending. Just good people, good hoops and seriously good court vibes. 🌈🏀

What an incredible morning at our Cairns Spectres Pride Basketball – Play With Pride event on Sunday! 💜✨

The court was absolutely buzzing as LGBTQIA+ community members and allies showed up, brought their whole selves, and filled the gym with sparkle, smiles, laughter and unstoppable energy. 🌟🌈💖

From first-time players to seasoned ballers, everyone came together to celebrate what makes our community so special — belonging, inclusion and the joy of sport. The friendships formed, the encouragement shared and the court-side cheer squads reminded us exactly why the Spectres exist.

Together we lived our values of:

This event is proudly centred around the LGBTQIA+ community and our amazing allies — creating a safe, inclusive and welcoming space where everyone can connect, have fun, and feel celebrated both on and off the court 💖
