North Cairns Tigers Football Club Since 1955 | Official page of North Cairns Australian Football Club. Refurbed changerooms including the addition of an ice bath and gym.

Established in 1955, North Cairns Tigers is a semi-professional sporting club in Cairns with teams from Senior grade through to Juniors in both Australian Rules Football and Netball. We are fortunate enough to have received a multi-million-dollar upgrade to premises including resurfaced oval, light installation on oval & netball courts, refurbed clubhouse, bar, kitchen and car-park. State-of-the-art extension to provide disabled access, visitor change rooms, and netball administration. Facilities include a licensed bar and spacious family-friendly bistro open on training and game nights. The club provides the opportunity to participate in the wonderful team sport of AFL including

Colts (U18 Boys)
Women’s
Youth Girls (U15-U18)
Juniors (U7-U18)

AFL Training is on a Tuesday and Thursday with the Juniors from 5 - 6.00pm, Seniors from 5.45 - 7.30pm. CONTACT for Footy:

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP FEES:
Membership fees are low and anyone is welcome to join.
$10 Social (no entry fee on home game days)
$20.00 Full Voting Member (10% discount food & beverage)

FUNCTION VENUE
Our private club house is a great choice for your next special occasion or social/corporate event. We can host functions for up to 300 people, or as few as 20 for a smaller, intimate party. We have a fully licensed bar, a hardwood dancefloor, and stage, a commercial kitchen with full catering available, and we’re flexible to suit your needs so you can have the party that you want. We’ve hosted wedding receptions, 21st birthdays, corporate seminars and workshops, as well as family events and wakes. Inside our clubhouse, we can seat up to 160 people, and we can seat another 160+ outside in the undercover patio which overlooks the field. Our club house/oval is fully fenced so you can easily control numbers with private parking for 100 cars. In addition, our staff are friendly and will accommodate most requests. 🐯 DOUG RYAN TAKES THE REINS IN 2027 🟡⚫️

Massive news for our senior program with Doug “Dougie” Ryan officially taking the reins as our Development Coach for the 2027 season!

A highly respected Tiger with an outstanding football résumé, Doug is a former AFL Cairns Reg Dean Medallist, 2023 Premiership Captain and two-time Premiership Player (2022 & 2023).

But it’s what Dougie brings beyond his playing achievements that makes him such a great fit for the role.

His alignment with our club culture, strong football knowledge and genuine passion for player development will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen the pathway between our emerging talent and senior ranks.

With a great football brain and proven leadership, Dougie will play an important role in mentoring our senior depth, developing our next generation of players and building a highly competitive Development squad at Watson’s Oval.

Working alongside newly appointed Head Coach Danny Ades, the committee and coaching group are excited about the foundations being put in place for 2027.

🐯 SKIP STAYS | DAVEY’S BACK FOR 2027 🟡⚫️

Our Captain is locked in.

We’re thrilled to announce David “Davey” Denboer has re-signed with the North Cairns Tigers for the 2027 season.

A 2025 Premiership Tiger and one of AFL Cairns’ dominant midfielders, Davey stepped into the captaincy in 2026 and has made a huge impact both on and off the field.

Relentless through the middle, fiercely competitive and highly respected by his teammates, Davey leads by example and embodies what it means to pull on the yellow and black.

His work ethic, commitment to his teammates and passion for the club make him the perfect man to continue leading the Tigers into our next chapter.

With Danny Ades now at the helm and Davey leading from the front, we’re excited to see what 2027 has in store at Watson’s Oval.

A massive congratulations to Hadassah Nicholson, who celebrates an incredible 150 games for the North Cairns Tigers! 🐯💛🖤

Hadassah’s journey in the yellow and black began back in 2014 as an U17, when she also stepped up to play Senior Women’s football. More than a decade later, she has become one of the club’s most experienced, accomplished and loyal players.

A versatile footballer who can impact the game in a number of positions, Hadassah is a forward at heart. Explosive, agile and crafty, her footy IQ and ability to create something around goal have made her a constant threat to opposition sides.
