After the blood, sweat & tears… Blue Whaler is BACK! 🎣💙

Today was a pretty special day for the Cairns Reef Fishing team, with our beloved Blue Whaler officially back in the water — and having an absolute cracking first day back on the reef!

Fittingly, her return coincided with the return of our great guests from PACCAR for their 2026 fishing tournament.

After plenty of blood, sweat and tears behind the scenes getting Blue Whaler ready, we couldn't have asked for a better way to welcome her back.

Blue Whaler back on the reef. PACCAR back onboard. And the fish played their part too. 🎣

A very fitting return all round — and a great way to kick off the 2026 tournament.

Some highlights from one our charters earlier this month 🎣

We’ve had our fair share of breezy days, which has meant fewer opportunities to get offshore — but the good news is that when we have been out, there have been some quality catches, plenty of laughs and lots of happy faces onboard!

Good fish, great company and even better vibes. 🙌🎣

Here’s hoping for plenty more days on the reef as we head towards the end of the month! 🌊

Measuring an incredible 90 cm and weighing approximately 10 kg, this fish was an absolute beast and no easy task to get over the rails! 💪🎣
