Karate Cairns - Fudoshin Sh*toryu

Ryoko attends our karate classes on a regular basis. She will be included on an Australian team travelling to her home town, Yokohama Japan for the World Sh*tokai Championships. Her two kids Sora and Mioki will also compete. As a late starter to karate, she has pushed through frustration, sore muscles, doubts and is now overcoming some habits in her movement. Through kata she is finding her centre, timing, poise and focus. She is not rushing and keeping her breathing even. I have watched her face up to the challenges presented by karate and perservere. She will also sit her brown belt grading at years end. We will hold her to a high standard. Well done Ryoko San.

Happy birthday to Sensei Trevor. He started training with me as a 10 year old early 1990's.
He has bought a lot of strong energy into the dojo. A man of actions over words and still young enough to show the young guns a few things. He also medaled at the Australian Titles Veterans kumite this year. Always attending fund raisers and club functions Trevor has been a tremendous support. A very technically sound, experienced black belt. Thank you Trevor and wife Sarah for your support. Happy birthday my good friend.

Young Jacqueline proudly models her Sh*tokai Australian Team Member polo. She will be one of the youngest in a team of seventy Australians to compete at the Sh*tokai World Championships in Yokohama Japan in September. She is one of nine competing from our dojo. We are a dojo that makes things happen. Imagine the profound effect of accomplishment this will have on her personal development. We are all behind you young lady.

Attention members. Gradings will be held on Wednesday 16th September. Sharpen those stances, kata, kumite and kihon. Applications will be available next week. Time to step up.
