Incorporated in 1996
The club house was hand built by local tradies who most donated
their time free of charge with many materials donated by local
companies. This was the vision of the funding President, Les Peddle to which the
pavilion is named after. Les has since passed on but still retains
membership number one. The purpose of building the club was to promote sporting activities
for Macha

ns youth to curb a rising youth crime rate in the community
This also gave a unique opportunity for the kids and adults to connect
and socialize through events at the club where eventually most
of the adults got to know each others kids and likewise. In a few short years, the crime rate in the small beach community
went from one of the highest to the lowest in the Cairns region
and remains that way today. Many of the kids the club was built for are now adult members
and are bringing their own kids to club to keep the tradition going. The club is solely run by a volunteer committee raising money for
the sponsorship of youth sports and events of the years such as-
Touch Football, Indoor Cricket, Kick Boxing, Basketball
and the Annual School Camp. The club receives no outside government funding and maintained
the facility on it's own merit.

Due to the weather, we are relocating the NYE show to the hall. We will be starting the music a bit later around 8pm for those who would like dinner beforehand at O'Shea's .
