🏆 It’s been two weeks since the Vogalonga and the Cairns Dragon Boat Club crew are nearly all home after an unforgettable adventure in Venice, successfully completing the 30km Vogalonga 2026! 🇦🇺🇮🇹🐉
Now in its 50th year, Vogalonga is a world-renowned, non-competitive paddling event celebrating human-powered boats. The course winds through the Venetian Lagoon before finishing along the Grand Canal and beneath the iconic Rialto Bridge—a truly spectacular setting for this remarkable event.
Over the past year, our paddlers have dedicated themselves to training, building endurance, strength, and teamwork. Countless hours on the water and months of preparation paid off in Venice, where our crew successfully completed the 30km course.

From the beautiful weather to the incredible food, breathtaking sights, and friendships strengthened along the way, Venice delivered memories that will stay with us for years to come.
A huge thank you to every paddler, supporter, family member, and friend who helped make this journey possible. An even bigger thank you to the crew who stayed home and kept the club ticking along while we were away.
Representing Cairns on the international stage and sharing this challenge together has been one of the most rewarding and memorable achievements in our club’s history.
