To our U17 Boys…
The club is truly proud of the young men you have become, both on and off the field. 💙💛
This season started with a lot of uncertainty. With the restructure of game days, we started slowly and at one point we weren’t even sure if we would have enough boys to field a full team.
But you boys turned up, stuck together and worked hard all season — and what a season it became!
A very special shout-out to Brandon, Tyler, Javahn & Julian, who have worn the Kangaroos colours for their entire junior journey, from U6 through to U17. You boys have achieved so much throughout the years, and we thank you for proudly representing our club every single season. What an incredible way to finish your junior football journey.
Then we have the boys who have ventured away at different times but have always known where home is — somehow finding their way back to Roos. 💙💛
Grand Final day summed up everything about this team.
We faced a full-strength Brothers side while missing three boys from our starting line-up, with another two boys taking the field while unwell. We also had four boys who only joined us this season — three of whom had never played club land before.
But watching that Grand Final, you never would have known.
You trusted your coaches. You trusted each other. You played your game. You backed one another and proved what can happen when a team plays with heart.
That game was the perfect reflection of who you boys became this season — a team that refused to make excuses and refused to give up.
I cannot wait to see what the future holds for each and every one of you.
