Kangaroo Junior Rugby League Club formed in the western suburbs of Cairns in 1931. Our home ground and leagues club are at Vico Oval on Irene Street in Mooroobool. Foundation members of the Cairns and District Rugby League (CDRL) Kangaroos have won numerous seniors and juniors premierships over the years and still have more than ten t

eams fiercely competing in local junior and senior fixtures today. In 2013 Kangaroos were club champions and season premiers. Other significant club highlights include winning the senior premiership in our inaugural season of 1931 and winning the same premiership again in 1956, this time undefeated. An original 1931 jersey is on display in our clubhouse along with pictures of the 1931, 1956 and 2013 teams. We welcome players from under 6′s to under 17's including teams of Girls only, U13, U14, U15 and U17. Current Committee

Kangaroos Juniors was first formed in Cairns as Western Suburbs in 1967 when the present grounds at Vico Oval were developed. In 1980 the club’s name was changed to West Kangaroos and in 1990 the name was changed again to the title we know today, Kangaroos Junior Rugby League. John Brennan was in the first committee formed in 1967 and is still helping out around the club. At Roos we strive to develop teamwork, discipline, respect and loyalty in our players.

We are gearing up for a big day of footy at Vico Oval tomorrow.

Our 6-12s have the paddock from 8:30am followed by our Senior games kicking off at 3pm.
Our Canteen has had a slight change in menu to serve dinner meals into the evening so our volunteers are encouraged to come down & help out!
