In Memory of Annie — A Baseball Mum Through and Through❤️
For so many people, Annie wasn’t just Bradley’s mum or Graham’s wife.
She was the baseball mum — a familiar face at the diamond, in the stands, and amongst the families who became such an important part of her life.
Her dedication to Bradley and Graham, and to their baseball journey, was unwavering.
Through the years with the Cairns City Reds, Mum was there — cheering, supporting, celebrating the wins and standing beside them through the losses.
But her support never stopped with her own family.
She cared deeply about all the boys who took the field. She watched them grow, celebrated their achievements, knew their families and formed friendships along the way.
Baseball brought so many people into Mum’s life, and she had a way of making those people feel like they belonged.
For the boys who played alongside Bradley, Mum was part of their baseball memories too. For the parents and families she met along the way, she was a familiar smile, a friendly face and someone who genuinely cared.
What started as supporting her son became a lifelong connection to a community she loved.
Even after Bradley’s playing days were over, Mum never lost her love of the game. She continued to follow baseball, keeping up with Major League Baseball and always having something to say about the players, the games and the next big Australian talent.
Her passion for baseball was really just another reflection of who Mum was — loyal, dedicated, generous with her love, and fiercely proud of the people she cared about.
To Bradley, she was his biggest supporter.
To Graham, she was by his side.
To the Cairns City Reds and the many boys and families who crossed her path, she was part of the baseball family.
And to all those people whose lives she touched along the way, she leaves behind memories that will live on long after the final pitch.
The diamond may be quiet now, but her place in our baseball family will never be forgotten.
Thank you, Mum, for every early morning, every game, every cheer from the stands, every conversation after the final out, and for loving not just your own, but so many of the boys and families who became part of our lives.
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Anne Maree, Mum, Nan Nan, Annie.
Anne Maree was known for her unwavering love of family and friends, her passion for craft, her Coca-Cola, ci******es, and crime shows- amoungst other passions.
She shone brightest in her role as Nan Nan to Avaleigh, Devoted Wife to myself and Mum to Rebecca and Bradley.
