Our 2025 classes concluded last week. A huge thank you to all of our students and families who have dedicated their time, energy and effort to attend classes and support us throughout the year. Whether youโve been with us for years or have only recently joined, we are endlessly grateful to you all.
This year included some significant milestones for us, not least of which was our change of venue midway through the year. While the warmer months have made us miss the air-conditioned comfort of our previous space just a little, the benefits of a larger area and a wider range of training environments have greatly enhanced the experiences we can offer.
It wouldnโt feel right to wrap up the year without sharing a little more footage from recent classes. This term, we introduced our Juniors (11โ15 years) to strategies for detecting, defusing and defending against threats involving edged weapons. Given the high-risk nature of this topic, we have traditionally limited this content to our adult students. However, with the increasing prevalence of weapon-related incidents in our community, we felt a cautious, respectful and age-appropriate introduction was both relevant and worthwhile. Our approach is grounded heavily in non-violent strategy and theory, with physical responses considered only when all other options have been exhausted or are unavailable.
Lastly, a big congratulations to Miss L from our Juniors group, who was promoted to Level 1 Black last week. Watch until the end of the video to see some footage of her in action.
We wish everyone a safe, happy and restful holiday and look forward to seeing you all back in 2026.
