Back in the water today. Michael has had difficulties with his buoyancy and trim underwater. Working with the ever-fabulous Melanie vio Seror of Octopus Dive, he had no such issues today. Thanks Mel for inviting me along to help you out.

Another great session with the Queensland Police Service as part of their "Blue Surf" program. Congratulations to Tim and Kim. You both did so well. Your buoyancy control was amazing.

One of the four objectives of Marlin Coast Diving is to help promote Cairns and Far North Queensland as an accessible tourism hub.

A few weeks ago, David and his nurse travelled all the way from Houston for a 5-week trip around Australia, including 5 days in FNQ. It was my great privilege to be asked to drive and guide them round this beautiful part of the world (included a trip up to Cape Tribulation and the Daintree, a day on the reef and a trip to Hartley’s Crocodile Park).

Unfortunately, we were not able to get David scuba diving, so we did the next best thing - snorkelling.

This was a first for David and a first for us. Each client provides a new and exciting challenge and I feel blessed to be able to do what I do.

Extremely grateful to Spinal Life Australia Australia for allowing me to have a stall at today's open day here in Cairns. We work with people with impaired physical, psychological and emotional abilities and help them experience scuba.

The main reason I started Marlin Coast Diving was to support ADF Veterans and their families, who have been impacted by their service. Scuba is one of the best ways relax and meditate; after all there is only one thing to concern yourself with underwater - and that's breathing. Mates4mates is an organisation that supports vets and their families, so I was extremely proud to have been asked to run a diving program with them recently. Early days but I hope the start of a long relationship. Congratulations to Letitia and Sam - they both did so well.

Great to be back teaching again. This time with the Queensland Police Service, as part of their "Blue Surf" program.

Blue Surf provides an environment to help members who often deal with emotive, tense, distressing and challenging circumstances at work which can affect the mental health and wellbeing of the individual.

Awesome day and everyone had a great time.

Yay! My new fins arrived today. Shame I didn't have them for the recent course with Sarah as I really didn't have much strength in my fin strokes and I think these might have really helped. That said, can't wait to try them out.

And before anyone mentions, you can never have enough fins.

😀

Finally back in the water after my operation. Congratulations to Sarah Jackson. With the support of Melanie Seror at Octopus Dive we were able to certify her as a DDI Open Water Diver (Level 2). That means she will still be able to dive, with her family, on the Great Barrier Reef.

Thank you Mel for all your support and congratulations to Sarah. Fantastic effort and result!
