What an incredible performance by Cairns Judo Club at the Australian Judo National Championships! 🥋🏆

Our athletes represented Queensland with skill, determination, and true fighting spirit, bringing home an outstanding collection of results:

🥇 Gold Medals
• Odysseas Kolovisteas (Kyu Grades +100)

• Odysseas Kolovisteas (Junior Men +100)
• Alyssa Formosa (Junior Women -70 & Kyu Grades -70)

To achieve multiple podium finishes at the national level is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and commitment shown by our athletes, coaches, and supporters throughout the year.

Congratulations to Sebastian, Sanyi, Ody, Alyssa, and Regina on your fantastic achievements. We are incredibly proud of the way you represented Cairns Judo Club and the Far North. Your efforts, resilience, and sportsmanship have made the entire club proud.

BIG day out for some of our CJC fams - the shelf is filling up with all this hardware 😏🏆

🥇 Odysseas Kolovisteas, Gold National Beach SAMBO Champion. He did the business - sand, sweat, no questions asked.

🥇 Alyssa Formosa, deciding gold was the only acceptable outcome and walked away National Beach SAMBO Champion. Just executing the plan.

🥈 Regina Pittard, repped hard at the Oceania Judo Championships and brought home silver — absolute grit.

💥 Sebastian TEMESI, casually ended his bout with a KO at the Bareknuckle Fighting Championship. Lights out. Goodnight. See you later.

Odysseas Kolovisteas and Alyssa are in Adelaide about to compete in the Australian Beach SAMBO Championships this Saturday!

Normally the beach is for chill vibes, bare feet, and maybe a swim - NOT THIS WEEKEND! Expect a clash of competitors and a tonne of (sandy) grit from these two 😏

NQ Judo would like to congratulate Claudine on representing Cairns Judo Club and Australia on the refereeing stage at the Oceania Championships this weekend!

With an incredible 56 years involved in judo, Claudine has dedicated her time to coaching and refereeing at local North Queensland competitions, helping shape and support our judo community for generations.

This weekend, Claudine will take her place on the international stage, officiating in the Kata division — a fantastic achievement and recognition of her experience and commitment to the sport.

👏 Congratulations Claudine, and thank you for representing NQ Judo with pride. Enjoy every moment of the experience!

Double gold at the Melbourne International Judo Open 🥇🥇

Junior Women -63kg
Senior Women -63kg

All contests won by ippon.

A composed, controlled performance across both divisions — and an important one.

With the Oceania Championships next weekend, this was exactly the hit-out we needed. Good rhythm, sharp timing, and a chance to feel out parts of the field we’ll see again soon.

The level lifts from here.
